First, Pimp Your OTP Week causes a fight or two.

Then, there's this, which is only 6 posts long (well, 5 if you don't count my own ^_^;), but is already wanky with the "Yaoi vs Slash" term debate. :P

Plus, there was X spoiler wank which was deleted.

To its credit, though, this isn't AS bad as all the "Can't we get along" and the "Of age vs underage" stuff. ^_^; And I'm not so much bothered by this as mildly amused. :P

I feel bad for wanking yaoi so much though...maybe something'll pop up on marysues soon? Maybe a whiny teenybopper author and her sockpuppets? That'd be fun. XD;

Just so EVERYBODY KNOWS, I like threads about blah, blah, and blah and I don't like yaoi wanks. So I won't be reading FW until they're over. I'm sure you'll all miss me oh so very terribly, and my absence will be a gaping void in your hearts until I return.

Oh, and I'm sure you all care passionately about what sorts of threads I like and dislike, since this entire comm was built to fit my personal preferences. I'm just that important. See this horde of imaginary people behind me that I am representing with my random bitching? You need to care about our personal preferences. Lots.

I'll be smacked for this but I think the original poster did have a point.

I thought the point of OTP week was to pimp said OTPs via fic and pic reccomendations, not just rattle off a list of couples you like.

However they really needed to find a better way to express this.

And sort of defeated the definition of One True Pairing.

If Sanzo x Hakkai is your OTP, how can Hakkai x Gojyo ALSO be your OTP? Seems to me (there's that rational part of the brain kicking in) that Sanzo x Hakkai is a Pairing of Preference, not a One True Pairing. I thought (silly me) that One True Pairing meant there was no other pairing for either of the two that are involved in same said OTP declaration.

You know OMGTHRLUVISSOPURE!!!1!!111!!!

I think I sprained something.

To be honest, I wasn't even gonna participate in OTP Week, seeing as I have a million OTPs and conflicting ships. But, I ended up seeing it as a chance to whore my icons, so.... >.>;;

I have a ton of pairings of preference but I can't think of one pairing that I will absolutely spork my eyes out if they ever get split, as some OTP fans have behaved at times.

Whoring icons is a good reason to participate. Certainly at least you were contributing something other than 'yeah me too.. and ... and ... and...'

Well, that is a good point, but I didn't get that from the OP's post. I got "I don't like this, so it shouldn't be posted."

Besides, yeah, sometimes comms do get overrun with crap (try a fandom comm when people don't understand that surveys should probably be answered in your own journal), but bitching about it? not gonna help. What's the phrase, spitting into a hurricane?

Anyway, agreed that it's a fun idea that people are probably going to do lamely.
