Current mood:*sporfle!*

The business with fandom_scruples has apparently made its merry way to ljdrama.org, where wankiness on the post itself has begun in the comments, particularly with a person by the name of "Jopti", who apparently goes back and checks the comments regularly enough to reply to them. Hmmm...

Jopti was not the only one who was wanky. It seems to me that people make assumptions about slash writers, but do no such thing with those who write het or lesbian porn.

"which is scary...go out and get a boyfriend already!"

I'll be sure to tell the MARRIED slash writers/fans that.

Well we know that all slash writers must suffer from some mental disorder.

After all no *normal* woman would be interested in gay sex, kinky sex, or sex at all. We're just supposed to 'lie back and think of England'.

If we're curious then it must mean we're insane, psycho or a complete perv.

Seems that someone is over-reacting. I just can't get over the fact that some of them are putting on airs... i'm holier than thou kind of attutide. The bottom point lies with the fact that if parents don't want their kids reading smut, they must be supervised. End of story. I wouldn't let my 5 to 13 year old kids surf the net unattended.

the moment they hit 14... well... let's just say that some people *coughorlandobloomcough* lost their virginities at the age of 14 and i don't think it has anything to do with slash.

What gremlin is it that makes them all repeat themselves three times? Do they measure how right they are in post volume?

Isn't it cute how so many people who begin their posts with the phrase "I'm not into fanfiction, but... " then turn out to be Teh Expert on fic and all the people who read it and write it. Do they not realise how people with eyes will read that? "I'm a moron and my opinion means nothing, but..." They might as well just stop there.

Fuckwits.

What? Didn you know that people who have never written a story in their are the *only* people who can judge the merits of fanfiction?

Dude. It's all about Bill O' Reilly and imitating his show, the O'Reilly Factor. He does that all the time! :D

Take three weeks ago, for example: "Now, you know, I don't believe in the death penalty or anything, but if this kid Malvo show no remorse for the sniper shootings...then, well--you gotta fry 'im, ya know? He needs to die."

This person's all worked up about the vadlity and quality of other people's hobbies and claim they need psychiatric help for their taste in porn, and the slashers are the ones who need to go out and get lives/get laid?

What I want to read are the testimonials of these mysterious children who stumble on unprotected porn. Because I haven't heard anything about it. Really. You'd think if little Suzie was looking around on Fanfiction.net for some more Mary Sues by her friend Sally, and somehow clicked on some kinky Snape/Hermione rapefic --- oh, wait. FF.net outlawed NC-17 fics.

Okay, okay, so let's say little Suzie's just websurfing, looking for pictures to print out for her book report. We'll also say that little Suzie is NOT on AOL or MSN and does not have the obligatory parental blocks, and that little Suzie's parents are herione addicts who can somehow afford a computer and have a semi-literate child totally ignore everything their daighter does unless they can sue someone for it.

... Wait, how is little Suzie finding this shit, again?

(Reply to this)(Thread)

[info]ahiru
2004-01-29 03:08 pm UTC (link)
Personally, I'm thinking that little Suzie is actually looking for the porn, and then her parents come walking up behind her and she quickly squeaks, "I wasn't looking! I just stumbled on it, really!" and then her parents immediately decide that, rather than letting her continue to look or punishing her and putting on parental locks or something silly and sensible like that, they must regulate the Internet instead. Because obviously, little Suzie looking at porn is the fault of everybody else except her parents.

To be fair, at one point my sister and her friends liked this teenybopper site than was a .co.uk address (I really can't remember which one), and once at school typed in the .com version by mistake and got a porn site.

Then again, she was thirteen and if she was anything like her three older sisters she closed it down immediately going 'Pay for porn? Bullshit. I can get this stuff free off usenet.'
