Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
You may remember this reported wank session? Well, I have another one including the same rabid fangirl. She's remarkably scary with her obsession with feminine!Sirius and feminine!Remus. Anyway, enough of that and back to the wank.

She was involved in this roleplay for a time, playing older Remus and younger Sirius. (It makes more sense when you read the premise.) Unfortunately, our friends-pages were inundated with Sirius writing sonnets to his wun twu luv, younger Remus, while older Remus wanted to get Snape into bed. Snape wanted nothing of it and our student characters were scared of this. Understandably.

She also had two friends on the roleplay, who played Lily and James. We didn't think much of this initially, as we've got sisters on the roleplay, and nothing bad has happened (except when we temp characters and they get stuck RPing a sexual relationship with one another - which is quite surreal).

Considering that James had been lusting after Lily for ages and ages on the RP and Sirius and Remus were kind of a couple, imagine our surprise when we opened up our friends pages and found out that James had kissed Sirius, that they were now going out, that he declaired his love for Sirius by jumping up on the table during breakfast (not that any other character remembers this - repression maybe?), Lily had been writing anonymous love letters to Sirius and Remus was still in the picture. Right up until Remus decided to sulk - understandable really. Sirius then started to complain about how Remus wasn't talking to him. Me being the evil person that I am (and that I play a Hufflepuff), suggested that maybe it was the betrayal that did it. Sirius practically declared blood-feud against my character in response. It was funny as hell.

Our mod, who is a totally awesome guy, so you know, put his foot down over this plot that came out of nowhere, was not posted on our OOC community (which is for plot ideas and the like) and was pretty damn stupid.

Okay, what the hell?

Please friends-lock all posts involving the current plot (if you want to call it a plot) with the whole Sirius James Lily thing so I can deal with it all when I have time. Just out of time at the moment. SO FRIENDS-LOCK IT.

If anyone is here for the ships, please leave now. That is not what this rpg is ever going to be about.

Fortunately for us, they left by posting the following messages on the OOC board.

Following the trend :(

Sorry, Alex. Same pw. You can have it.

I loved you all. If you wanna keep in contact, g'head. Yanno the AIM.

~Cor

I do apologize for upsetting the mod, but I really don't see what the big problem is. No, I did not come into this rpg looking for a relationship. It just happened. And I'm sorry that it upset the mod.

He says that it is ooc, and I really don't see how it is. They are still in character; they still tease and flirt and are generally rowdy. I was even told that James and Sirius had a little fling before. That Sirius kissed James in front of everyone. So I really didn't think people would be pissed about it.

So, as much fun as I've had playing James, I really don't think I can stay here and do so. I don't like being told I'm ooc when I'm not. I wish you luck on finding a new James, and I'll be changing the pw and e-mail. I'll e-mail the pw to Alex.

Ta. It's been real.

Myk

Well hate to say it but I'm out as well. Cor and Myk are leaving/gone. They are the two reasons why I was staying in this RPG anyway.

I wish I could say it's because I have no time... but seriously... I've had small problems with the way this RPG was run for months now. This entire crap about Sirius/James is the last straw. I see nothing OOC about it. Just because they arn't the more popular couple doesn't mean it wouldn't happen. Besides, it's not like they jumped into a relationship right when Myk took James up.

So yep... old!Remus and young!Sirius are out.

Since this journal is mine I'm keeping it, but you're getting Sirius' journal back. I'll change the password and then change the email to Alex's so he can request the password when he needs the journal again.

Byes.

Understandably, we were intensely curious as to what their real reasons actually were, if it was not for the eventual love pentagon that we didn't want to see and kept asking on occasion. And then our opportunity arose. She made a post on bad_rpers_suck complaining about how there aren't any heterosexual males on her roleplay (which is horribly contrived anyway - you have to see it to believe it). One of our new players started talking to her and happened to mention that her current roleplay was a lot of fun. Finally, Michelle of Many Journals asked which one it was. Our new player told her and she made a disparaging comment about it. I jumped on and corrected her. She deleted the comment. We took this chance (and were quite wanky about it, I must say, but it was for a good cause) and pointed out that we thought she was a hypocrite, an object lesson in irony and so forth. And then to annoy her, we started to flood her email account with Orwellian quotes about restricting freedom of speech and so forth.

Finally, she emailed our mod the reasons why she and her fellow friends left. It amuses us to this day.

Half these reasons will probably be dumb to you, but they just are the opposite
of what I was used to. Before I start, however, I would like to say that I
realise my entire deal about Remus/Snape was stupid as hell. Anyway.

[1] AIM RPing
- I never did a single AIM rp the entire time I was there until the night the
entire James/Sirius thing happened. I can't remember what the rule was about
that... but every single time I tried to RP with somebody they wouldn't want to
do it. Alex said more than once that the people do not use AIM as a way to RP
in the RPG which I found odd. I would want to RP Sirius and Remus just
TALKING... doing SOMETHING, no smut, and Alex would say he never did AIM rps.
Well then I saw a post one day in the OOC comm to some new person who said he
was available on AIM to RP. That just bugged me a bit.

[2] Private Posts
- I understand *why* he didn't want to use them, but I saw it as a major
inconvienence. There would be entire chunks of things I could write for either
Sirius or Remus, but couldn't because of that rule. It just made writing posts
a bit harder for me. I understand that's it a better way to develop skills...
but it just got annoying. The other thing is that real journals have
the "private" option so I just didn't see the point in not allowing them.

[3] Character-Only Posts
- Again, I can understand why Alex didn't want this... but then again I can't.
Like the private posts, real livejournal have the friends filter option to
allow certain people to see the posts. There would be things that I would only
want another character to see, but couldn't show them because of said rule.
Then the entire AIM thing is brought into place with this as well.

So I think I should explain the Lily letter thing while I'm on this topic. The
reason why they appeared in Sirius' journal is because we were not allowed to
have anonymous posts, owls, or things I stated above. So Cor would IM me the
note and I would post it in the format... "I got a note today. It said -insert
note text-" I wasn't aware that people missed the part where Sirius said he
RECIEVED it. I would have made it a bit clearer if I knew.

[4] Sirius/James
- Myk, Cor, and I really thought that the post Alex made about the entire thing
wasn't needed. We thought that he could have IMed us before throwing a snit fit
about it. It could have been handled better if he IMed us. I think I wrote
something about it happened BEFOREHAND in a email you sent to us, or something,
I can't remember. All three of us didn't see why it was that big of a deal. I
mean, I can somewhat see... but I still don't understand. It didn't affect
anybody but mainly Sirius, Remus, and James... somewhat Lily. So that was
literally the last straw for me as well as Cor. I know that Cor has about the
same problems I did with the RPG. The only reason she stayed in as long she did
was because I practically begged her to stay. She told me over and over that
she wanted to quit, but I asked her over and over to stay.

Well... Myk, Cor, and I left. We created our own RPG to continue that storyline
with. I think that it was actually a good decision to leave rather than bring
the entire RPG down in drama and continue to be unhappy.

Myk is also reading what I'm sending you and she has something to say as well:
I wasn't part of Temporis all that long. But I only went off what little
information I could drag out of people b/c the only ones who would talk to me
were you and Cor. I had to pretty much corner Alex to get any info, so...
yeah... I don't know.

So yea... we didn't leave just because of that entire Sirius/Remus/James crap.
It was for stuff that we had been trying to get over the entire time we were
there. I know it would of done good if we all just left, but Alex told me
multiple times that I better not leave and various things, so I didn't. I
didn't want to upset him or anything considering I knew how hard it was to find
a replacement for James.

I'm pretty sure I forgot something in there, but that's the main jist of it.
(This has been formatted because my eyes bled when I read the original version)

You're right, most of these are dumb to me. Only because these issues were
addressed in the rules on the userinfo page.

[1] Temporis Amoveo is a journal based game. AIM rp'ing does not play a major
role. I don't know why Alex did that, and I prefer not to speak for him on these
matters. (Editor's Note: Most of us are either in the UK, US or Australia. It's a right pain to organise chats, so we don't.)

[2] Private post are allowed, however mock-private posts are not. The game is
played like the characters are actually using livejournal. Yes, there is that
option on livejournal, but private means private. When you select that option in
your personal journal, no one else can see the post. This was gone over in the
rules.

[3] Once again, the game is played like the characters are actually using
livejournal, this is in the rules. Filtering entries to certain people means
only those certain people can view them. Mock-filtering means everyone can view,
but pretends they cannot. It is very easy for one to make the mistake of
mentioning something they were not supposed to. We see this often just from the
books (i.e. characters knowing the trio helped buckbeak escape or something). We
saw no reason to further the confusion. It keeps things orderly.

[4] What Alex said was his own decision. Many members expressed their
disapproval of what was said and he in turn expressed regret for how he worded
it. I cannot speak for him, but I see no reason why he should be sorry for what
he wanted. He wanted you to friends lock so he could think about the plot and
make a decision. He did not tell you to delete anything, or that what you wanted
was not allowed at all.

It was a big deal because many felt it went against cannon. Temporis Amoveo is not a big AU game. Such a relationship reflects on the game and effects all the players. Lily, James, Sirius and Remus as characters in Temporis Amoveo, affect it a great deal whether you think so or not.

I for one, appreciate your decision to leave. I would have had many ill feelings toward you if you brought Temporis down in drama. Luckily you didn't. The game goes on, you all go on, everyone's happier, so I'll settle for regarding you warily.

To Myk: I'm sorry no one else would speak with you through AIM, but again, we are not based on AIM. If you had questions you could have always posted in the OOC journal.

Alex isn't scary. I've known him for over 2 years online and we've had our disagreements. He doesn't know the first thing about hacking, is far too lazy to search and destroy manually, and doesn't have the money to hire anyone. He wouldn't and didn't kill you for quitting.

I am terribly sorry that the three of you join Temporis Amoveo with
misconceptions, but it's your own fault. All of this was addressed in the rules
and if you had a problem with it, none of you should have ever joined in the first place. It is modeled after Nocturne Alley, one of the most followed games on livejournal and honestly we didn't expect anyone to join that was against that style of role playing.

I thought I had to share this fantastic wank with everyone, because it was too precious not to share.
