I believe these posts have something to do with the Fire Emblem boards on GameFAQs, since he's been raising a nonstop ruckus about them lately, or so I hear from people who actually talk to him. (I stopped talking to him after the "YOU INSULT HAMTARO, I KICK YOUR ASS!" wank.)

But really, these two posts have me in stitches.

Wanky and wankier!

Several people I know (who have not severed contact with him yet) are taking great pleasure in ignoring him.

The GameFAQs boards are censored; you can't say "shit" even with asterisks or whatever - they've got quite an extensive set of rules, last I checked.

Which makes things kind of fun, at times, to see violent flamewars breaking out with absolutely no profanity.

I've got one. If you're really used to the censoring system on a board you use, you're likely to half-consciously censor or have the urge to censor words that wouldn't pass the filters on that board, no matter where you're talking, if you're talking about the same subject.

If I tell you why I know this, it will be embarrassing for me, so I won't. ^^;;

Well, okay, but posting it on his LJ like that is what gets me. God only knows LJ doesn't have a profanity filter...

Incidentally, I have this impression of Fire Emblem fandom as a very small, very compact, extremely wanky thing -- like some sort of white-hot incandescent dot of OMG BULLCRAP. Am I off-base?

(He was involved for a while in another online thingy I'm in, although he was booted long before I joined up, and his name is still invoked sometimes. Never mind that everyone else there are capable of mass wankage -- apparently he aided and abetted the overall attitude of bitter hating-ness.)

flames are more effective when you DON'T use profanity. Honestly, "Fuck you" doesn't even make sense, nor does "You're full of shit"...And since swearing is heard commonly..

..Who's going to take them serously? Think about it, eh?

The sad part is that I don't think it even had to do with yaoi. He's upset because the mods deleted a few off-topic posts, because there were like five thousand posts bitching about needing a social board for the Fire Emblem section, or something similarly idiotic.

He also came and bitched to the FESS forums and the fireemblem LJ community...although it was deleted from the latter for being off-topic.

Although he probably hates yaoi too. I'll use my FE yaoi icon JUST 4 HIM!!!!111

Uh...Iris, this is your buddy Gunlord, from LJ...to be honest, I...wrote an email to CJayC of GameFAQs on Juigi's behalf, wherein I petitioned for an FE social board because Juigi asked me to...I guess I'm one of the few people who can actually stand to be around him and still talk to him...but I wonder if my act of kindness will make him more wanky? Perhaps he's so pissed off because I wrote a bad email and CJayC banned him from gameFAQs or something, I s'pose I'll have to ask him when I next see him, but in any case, if his...wankiness...has offended you, I apologize on his behalf for what very well could be my fault. ^__^;;;

It's not your fault for writing a bad email, Gunny. It's just that he's overreacting over unimportant bullshit and it amuses the hell out of me.

It's like, he wants social boards, okay. He tries to get people to petition with him. And apparently when people aren't as helpful as he wants them to be, he makes LJ entries screaming in seventy-two point font about how everyone can go to hell. It's the epitome of wanky ("wanky" being JournalFen for "fucking stupid").

At any rate, I'm glad that there are still people like you with enough patience to be friendly with him. But I prefer to be the bitch pointing and laughing from the peanut gallery.

Actually, GameFAQs doesn't make a social board until a board gets a certain number of registered users posting daily - it's to reduce the traffic on GameFAQs, not to make life better for the posters.

So any petitions to that effect are pretty much doomed to failure.

I have the feeling that at least two of his recent posts are related to my pissing him off. Let's see, I deleted his LJ community post, bitched at him on FESS in his own thread... oh yes, and pissed him off in chat more than once lately. Sorry, but if you're going to shove a fucking pointless petition down people's throats, of course you're going to get your ass flamed. But I really seem to push his buttons lately, whether it be by ignoring or choice commenting. =P Not my fault he's a wanker.

Friends do look out for each other, but I personally don't feel obligated to defend my friends when they're being idiots, and I wouldn't expect the same from them when I'm an idiot. But to teach his own. *shrug*

I gave him plenty of chances in the past. I made a considerable effort to like him back when I first became active in Fire Emblem fandom. And I found him rather unlikable right off the bat. Probably had something to do with the way he'd IM me to ask a question about something I didn't care about or know. I'd say I couldn't help him because I hadn't played that game yet, whatever. (Once or twice I tried to actually start a real conversation with him, but he was remarkably unresponsive, and just about all he seemed capable of saying to me were more questions.) No matter how many times I explained that I neither knew nor cared about x game, he'd periodically IM me with random bullshit.

So, yeah, I did give him a chance. More of them than I would have, had I been thinking clearly.

I'm with Iris here. Probably gave him more chances than she did, and I don't think he deserved them all anyway. Yes, I got along with him once, yes, he can be nice, and for a long time I did talk to him, but he slowly got more and more irritating both on AIM, in LJ, and on several message boards to the point where I removed him from AIM and tried telling him not to shove his GameFAQs petition into people's faces so much.

Sorry, he's way out of chances, sorry I don't get along with him, sorry he's so obsessed with GameFAQs. I don't like him, Iris doesn't like him, other people don't, deal with it. Not everyone is gonna like you.
