AHH! Portal of Evil invades the Garden of Eden
This is a new post from the yaoi community.

This girl's site is submitted to the famed Portal of Evil site. Rightly so because her artwork...well, let's just say that I agree with the caption about "Garden of Eden" and with the current posters. Does that make me a homophobe? She seems to think so.

The fact that there are three spelling mistakes in the first page of the comic alone doesn't leave me much hope for the rest.

Hm. Comic's poorly put-together, and the art's no great shakes, but I've seen FAR worse, and it's not -that- bad, so I dunno that it's quite "scribbles making out", but...
... No, I don't think I had much of a point...

Okay, comparing yourself to Da Vinci? Not cool. Like "like Jesus, in a way," in a way.

I don't mind the art on the comic, but the writing? not so very much. Is it so much to ask to write your dialogue in Word and spell-check it?

There don't seem to be any comments; I'd love to see what the reaction is from the yaoi comm.

I'm pretty sure it's a, although I got the capitalization wrong; it's da Vinci. I think.

Oh hell, I was a bio major; I don't know from art. Gonna shut up now. :P

Warning pages like the one on her domain make me giggle:

OMG! This website contains male/male romance and if you're not a wacky and EVIL!! yaoi fan like I am don't go any further! Because the concept of two men kissing and having sex is so BIZZARE and AGAINST ALL THE RULES SOCIETY HAS INSTILLED IN YOU FROM BIRTH that it'll, like, BLOW YOUR MIND! BLOW YOUR MIND, DUDE!

As for PoE, my personal opinion is that sometimes they're not as evil as they like to think they are. Mostly harmless yaoi fluff like this is evil now? Then again, The Portal of Goofy doesn't have the same ring to it.

[info]eiviiaru

My general standpoint on PoE is that they're... well, over-self-important wankers with some serious issues of their own. That said, sometimes they do wank over things which deserve it.

Also, for the love of god, can we stop having things like this?! No offense meant to the yaoifolks on this board, but... FOR GRIGNR'S SAKE, YAOI IS NOT TRANSGRESSIVE. YOU ARE NOT STRIKING A BLOW AGAINST THE MAN. THE MAN LAUGHS AT THIS SHIT, OKAY?! IT IS NOT IN ANY WAY MEANINGFULLY "CRAZY" OR "AGAINST ALL THE RULES"; IN FACT, IT IS TO THE POINT OF BEING ENTIRELY MUNDANE AND THUS OFTEN UNINTERESTING.

Whew. There, guess I needed to burn off some caps.

Word. With caveats. I wouldn't go so far as to call it "mundane" and "uninteresting" any more so than any other gender pair is mundane or uninteresting. To me it's just romance/sex like any other. One combination is no kewler than any of the others, nor does liking any combination make you more/less kewl than anyone else.

But people who think it's OMG ON THE EDGE! - no. No, not at all. Though I will give them a partial pass because IRL, in many places, it probably passes as freakish. I know I don't breathe a word of this interest to anyone IRL, although I've explained what yaoi is when a newbie came across the word at an anime convention. ("It's like frat boys drooling over lesbian porn, only the other way around.")

But online? Please. So not adventurous or unique.

If I may armchair-analyst for a sec, a lot of these people probably just want something to feel all special and treehouse-y about.

FURRY IS TEH DEVUL!
See it all the time on 4chan. Furry stuff just seems to jab some button in the psyche of a large portion of the asshat population, and activate their "OMGWTF CRUSHKILDESTROY!!!!11!" program.
(I could be all wanky and say that it pisses their little macho self-image-obsessed brains off that they like it so they have to deny it as vehemently as possible, all the while browsing furry art and stories for hours and hours just to make sure they really hate it, and share it with others so that they can hate it. But I won't. ... Ahem.)
That said, when this month's update came and there were only two strips, I wanted to smack E.S. The strip moves with all the speediness of a three-legged turtle as it is, going at four strips a month. This just gives me the kind of groaning feeling that Sabrina's going to be picking out a car until 2005.
