Pottersues wank
Well, appearantly there was a problem with some author/sockpuppet/troll on the Pottersues report yesterday. As you will note, she has disabled comments because her EVAL LESBIAN BITCH MINIONS readers got too enthuastic in "poking the troll".

Sounds like there's a whole lot of plooting going on.

I can't say I blame her. The Not-Bob thing wasn't quite getting beaded yet, but that pony was in need of a trip to the ICU. I think I'd get pretty tired of it after a while too, if my inbox was getting constantly jammed -- no longer with discussion and lighthearted snark at a story, but troll-baiting and flamewars with trolls. She has said a few times in the past during the Not-Bob adventure that "Okay, enough's enough."

Making it not-fun for PotterSues -- or anyone -- is a quick way to kill off desire and enjoyment in a fandom.

I can't say I blame her for putting her foot down. It wasn't a wanky hissyfit.

I gotta agree with Zanne here, I really don't think she was wanky.

It's not like she deleted the community and threw a pity party in her journal.

Sure 'poke the troll' can be amusing but the novelty wears off pretty darn fast.

I was actually trying to point out the wank going on with the minions and the troll/sockpuppet/author/whatever, not what pottersues herself did. Frankly, I've had to take the same measures against un-fun trolls myself.

HA! I know of this girl (she has unfortunately invaded a site I frequent), and almost all of her posts in the forum have included something along the lines of "And my character is not a Mary Sue!" Despite the fact that she's drawn art for her OC, uses their name as an AIM screen name, calls her favorite pairing Mahaila/Alex (her characters), and refuses to take the Mary Sue Litmus test.

I am kind of surprised she went caps-lock freaky, but I shouldn't be.

I can't believe I missed this one. I also can't blame Pottersues for laying the smack down. Some of my fellow minions readers have gotten quite nasty in personal reviews of some of these stories. *sigh*

I was posting at the time, but I didn't really see anything that wank-worthy, although the author and sockpuppets took no notice of anyone trying to pacify them, and started about five new threads. But I only got there just before pottersues disallowed comments, so I didn't have time to read everything anyway.

Oh yes. I know of her. She's 'very hurt'. I chatted with her a few moments ago through the site's PM function, and she's expressing herself pretty well (no STICKY CAPS). If only she had done so in that thread, none of this would have happened. Had me on her side until it was pointed out that there were over 100,000 words and 57 chapters and 3000 reviews. O.o That makes a real difference. More like increases the 'wtf?!' quotient.

I tried to explain that perhaps she should ignore stuff like this since she's 'sensitive'...we know how that goes, though.

I didn't see anything that bad written towards the trollgirl. Most of them just told her that she was cute and gave her links to their own works since she said that they clearly were just jealous of the best HP fanfic ever written!!!!!!!

Except she said it all in caps and used a lot of dirty words.

Slightly amusing. My personal favourite part (aside from the existence of the community ;-))
