Sorry for yet MORE [info]yaoi wank, but jeez...

And the thing is, the OP wasn't being THAT wanky either. It's just when she and a couple other users started arguing... *sigh*

Pretty impressive so far.

On the one hand, I agree with the poster, that people just putting two guys together just cause they're 'omg, kawaii!' is shallow.

But on the other hand, I'm really annoyed with the elitist attitude that they're blowing out. They're are squeeling fangirls in any fandom, and because some animes DO go mainstream, we get some very talented people who come into the fandom.

So really, the wank is on both sides this time. >.> Wow, Yaoi just keeps wanking and wanking nowadays... It was pretty tame a few months ago when I first joined.

Personally the OPs near constant, 'does it have yaoi, does it have yaoi' is really wearing.

There's more to a series then which hot males might end up fucking each other.

However Rachelthedemon brings the wank with her whole 'Fangirls are EVAL! WAAAAH they're stealing my series' whine.

And whoever thought up the term 'fanpoodles' needs to fucking die. It's utterly stupid.

There's got to be a term out there that perfectly describes all rabid, screeching, rude, annoying fanatics...then again, people have been using "idiots" and "morons" for ages and those work. ^_^

I like how the OP deals with it backwardsly:

///////////////////The fact that you are already supporting Michael/Sakaki without knowing a single thing about the characters is something I find...///////////

I don't support it, but I am interested in it since it seems to be the only pairing available. And since I don't know what they look like, I'm not throwing people together because of their looks... I'm throwing them together because of their gender...

Hee! Let's watch it fly!

Not all that wanky, until Rachel the Demon kicks in. But misused "it's" in the OP's use icon, ugh. *shudders* Sign of the mental powers at work, hmm?

THANK YOU!

I thought I was the only one being bugged entirely too much by that... I make the same mistake from time to time too, but for some reason, when bad grammar makes the scene on someone's icon, it drives me nuts.

*is ashamed* Yeah... I realized I used the wrong "it's" on the icon, like, two seconds after I uploaded it. I'm just too lazy to correct it. Sorry about that, I changed it to another icon until I fix the original.

You are shallow and utterly superficial. Throwing people together because of their gender is WORSE than throwing them together because of their looks! People in real life start dating because of looks, that's a well known, yet highly sad fact.

I'm in agreement that enjoying a series for guy/guy possibilities is utterly shallow, but bitch please. People in real life start dating because of gender preference too. Hello?

Yeah, but I don't just grab any guy girl off the street because he she has a penis vagina, you know.

I mean, if you're looking for two guys to fuck regardless of the circumstances, write fanfic and jack off to it. There isn't a law about horribly OOC fiction though there probably should be.

Personally, while the OP has a... strange set of priorities, I think the wank is just coming from all sides as far as the comments are concerned.

Rachel the Demon takes her fandoms just a bit too seriously, eh? "Every fandom I've ever been in has been stolen from me by the likes of YOUUUU~"

Oy that's one thing that really bugs me about the anime fandom. Believe it or not anime most series aren't special scared things that should be hidden from the masses because they won't understand their beauty.

And like someone pointed out, annoying fans are gonna be there no matter how obscure the series is. I think a lotta of people would be better off learning to cope with asshatness instead of trying to hide the series away in their closets.

It's probably wrong to tell her that there's Life Outside Fandom, right?

I'm just baffled that anyone would watch Witch Hunter Robin and think romance. I mean, thinking mysterious would make sense, and so would drama, but romance? It's essentially an occult detective show... and Amon's the only one with a possible love interest (and that love interest is not Robin).

*looks completely baffled*

but knowing the pairings ahead of time will save me and effort of figuring out who goes well with who...

Er...^^; I can't seem to get this kind of reasoning...I'm kind of confused. IMHO, it's true that pairings make the series worthwhile, but there are more to an anime/manga than the romance, whether it's yaoi, shounen ai, yuri, shoujo ai, or het. There are anime series that has no blatant romance nor pairings (probably implied, but it's still vague), but with regards to the plot and the entire anime itself, it's really good.

I can find no words to describe how much this saddens and angers me. If you represent the new wave of WHR fans that will emerge as a result of its airing on Cartoon Network, then my faith in all fandoms is officially gone. WHR is one of the few series I love that is safe, for the most part, from the Fangirl Plague thus far. And now, I fear for its ruin.

I share the same feeling with regards to fandoms. But then, we can't just diss "airhead fans" just like that, since it really can't be avoided. *fears for Pretear when it gets aired as well, ^^;;;* I myself admit that I also feel elitism, but these kind of situations can't be avoided. We, as fans, are not the same, so even if "elitist fans" do everything they can, there will be always be these kind of fans, no matter how good our fandom is.

^^ Can't we all just get along and have fun, "squealing fangirls" and "elitist" alikes? ^^;

Exactly. The only time there really IS an issue is if one from either category is rude and nasty. But if we're just having fun, why the need for "groups"?

Apologies to those who know the OP or Rachel, but honestly, they're both wanking like mad here and no mistake.

It's equal and opposite wank, too: the classical "squealing fangirl transparently interested in yaoi above every other goddamn thing, even with a series like WHR which is not yaoitastic at all" versus "snob-ass elitist who is convinced that any American airing of a show entirely destroys her fandom because then the stupid gaijin get their hands on it." Facing off in the STEEL CAGE!

The sad thing is that I may have to side with Rachel, even though I hate her viewpoint like fire, if only because she does not accent ///////////////like this////////////// as the OP seems determined to.

Well...someone has to. Might as well be the yaoi comm for a while.

But as always, someone will come in and supplant us as wankerific, then yaoi comm will fade back into the shadows.

Wank on!

Really, I didn't think it was all that "shallow" of a question to ask. Whenever I watch a new series I'm curious to know if there's yaoi. *shrug* All she asked was, "Is there a fandom for WHR yaoi?" Me and some others said, "there could be," and she said, "cool, I'll look for it."

And then suddenly everyone jumps as if she's already written the pair without having seen or knowing anything about them. Can't anyone ask an innocent question anymore?

Oh, fuck...

I can't ever do that. For me to pair people, there needs to be something I can work with. If it's not there, I don't pair them. Meh, whatever. Some things boggle even me.
