I never post here, damn me for succumbing. But.. but it's [info]establishment wank. C'mon, someone even pulled out the Kettle to call it black!

I'd post some witty play by play here and links to everything everywhere, but frankly I can't be arsed to as Est wank seems to propagate itself at rates of speed which would astonish even Stephen Hawking. Go, and gaze in wonder as the laws of physics fall to the power of the wank. Faster than the speed of light, I tell ya.

There really needs to be a way to harness Est wank (or RPG wank in general) to use as some sort of Douglas Adams style space drive.

As a science nerd, all I can do is sit and boggle. I've seen E. coli in an optimum environment reproduce at a slower rate of reproduction. I've yet to decide whether the exponential mathematics are awe-inspiring or terrifying. Ah well, I don't like math anyway.

Btw, the final bit in the post, the "No one's forcing you to stay" may seem like a non sequitur, since the post she was referencing was friends-locked. But the person who criticized the Karl/Stuart plotline also mentioned, iirc, that she would like to leave the Establishment but felt bound to stay to keep writing with Est players.

Of course, if a player wants to leave the Establishment RPG, nothing stops them from continuing to write with people who play in the Est-- anyone can write with whoever's willing/able to write with them. Which IMO puts a little wrist action into po-faced claims that you're forced to stay in a game you dislike in order to write with someone.

Don't be silly; you know as well as I do that we post guards at the gate and once someone leaves the game they can never ever write with anyone who is still in the game. And if they try, I loan Jenn my attack dogs.

No one is forcing Cherry to stay, nor did she exactly claim she was being 'forced'. Rather, she felt that her obligation was one of consideration if you read the string. She did not want to pressure me to pull our pairing from the game because I happen to like the Est. Just like I happen to like the Karl/Stuart piece that started the kerfluffle. In our little shiny world, dissenting opinions coexist happily.

Hmmm... it's nice to see people having different opinion. It's like watching a fucking tennis match. But i must say, it is the first time that i see fellow "slashers" arguing against each other. *shrug* Whatever it is, it seemed to have died down now. Thank God otherwise things would have gotten uglier.

I'm actually glad you posted this because I couldn't tell if this Cherry was the same as ([info]wivern) who is Paul's writing partner and oh my I was about to leap to uninformed defense of a good friend who was not IN FACT the person in question. *deep breath*

Now that I've read the original post, it did sound damned judgemental. As I posted in [info]darkrose's LJ, for me the whole issue is making sure the sub involved is in a psychological, emotional, and physical state in which to GIVE their consent. In this case, it seems Stuart was, and so...okay! (Contrast this with the Heath/Michael kerfuffle, in which Heath really *wasn't* psychologically able to consent.) Now, that said, I found it crossed my personal line of squick, but it's a great big ole YMMV. Not everything in the Est has to be catered to my personal kinks. Thank God, because that means everyone would be doing the same thing.

People I respect are arguing about third-hand opinions, which is just silly. In the game, Karl and Stuart are happily in a consensual master/slave relationship, Stuart has used his safeword and Karl stopped immediately, and it's clear this is not abuse. Read the story in question, and then decide for yourself.

As it's not my personal kink, I stopped reading that story. And I stop reading stories that squick me out in other ways. Why wank on stories you don't like? Go read something else!
