OMG OTAKU OPRESHUN
Again, from the Gaia boards. If you have a slow PC, phear.

darkkitsune feels that all otaku are being oppressed. 30 (at the moment) pages of FUNY ensue.

It gets really funny around page 25, where Kano Hitomi gets pissy at a coherent post and responds to it with a stream of garbage. She immediately has her ass handed to her by Kansai_Gal (and others), and quite possibly the funniest flamewar imaginable ensues for five pages. Finally, orgasm is reached on page 29, where Kano tells Kansai to cry her a river. Everyone else points and laughs.

And I was reminded why I go to Gaia in the first place: My schadenfreude is tickled routinely.

I'd post snippets, but it really isn't funny without the emoticons and formatting.

Woohoo, it's the 'let's drag out the official definition of otaku and beat each other over the head with it' game! Hours of fun and wank for all!

What I want to know is this: what's up with Kansai_Gal's constant attempts to change the topic? Is she trying to steer the topic away from 'raceism' or is it some strange form of word association? Is this normal for Gaia? Because after reading this thread I dunno if I could trust myself to go through the rest of the forums to find out....

Is it wrong that I think that "otaku.jpg" is full of decent looking fanboys being silly, rather than actual otaku? (Actual otaku would not look so well-groomed, so far as I know. I've only known one, really, and he was pretty scary.)

...And is it wrong that I want to know where they got the body pillowcases done? I want a Sephiroth one! *whines*

It's "highly intellegent," by the way, no one can be "highly smart."

Isn't there a law somewhere about trying to take the piss out of someone's spelling or grammar, and committing an even more grievous sin against the English language in the process?

I mean, each post being inside the speach-bubble of a chibi? <urgle> How can anyone take what they're saying seriously if you're being represented by a chibi? Having a chibi spouting about otaku being oppressed is... Well, it's actually pretty funny, but the OP doesn't seem to realize it.

And some user-interface design wank: alternating left/right for where the user name and icon go just irks me.

But man... watching Kano Hitomi is like watching someone trying to climb out of a hole by digging downward. And as that keeps getting deeper and deeper, Kansai_Gal provides more and more wank to fill it with.

Also, I feel there needs to be a jurisimprudence law involving (painfully out-of-date) urban legends in a feeble attempt to dislodge from an argument.

Is it bad that I want to correct the definition of otaku the kids presented? Because clamining otaku only applies to a basic set of fans and there are extreme otaku is wrong, as is claiming otaku are anime fans...

An otaku is obsessive nerd fanboy, put down and feared in the Japanese regular people universe, and believe me they come in a ton of flavours. I used to know military otaku, action film otaku...

And me, the idiot who is now wanking within wank otaku. Does that make me an otaku otaku? Am I the otaqueen yet? :D
