And why shouldn't we respect hatred?

Bah. Bah I say.

Wow, a Yaoi wank that isn't fandom-based. Never thought I'd see the day.

You know, they need to nickname the Yaoi community to 'Yaoi_drama', cause I think there's been some sort of wank coming from that community now on a weekly basis. ~_~

Actually...I think it's really more than weekly now. More like 2 to 3 times a week at minimum.

In defense of the community many members there are pretty annoyed by this post as well. It's OT and seems to posted to stir up trouble.

Though I am amused by the 'you must respect our right to be bigots' stance.

Well, it's a nice change of pace from having to think of the children all the time...

Diapers and formula and drool and...

Ahfuckit. I think I'll take the children. They at least are innocent to the ways of the world. Bigots on the other hand are not.

Interesting. You saw someone getting attacked in a completely random and irrelevant journal entry, and then you reasoned you'd go and rant about it in a community which is clearly market to be about "KAWAII 2-D BISHOUNEN engaged in luvvvvv ^o^" and you didn't think it was off topic. The mind works in interesting manners, doesn't it?

And here, again, we have the "if everyone else is doing something wrong, so can I" mentality which I honestly find highly interesting. I'm in awe. Interesting, truly interesting. I'd even say it was fascinating. Yep.

What you believe is nice, but arbitrary and based upon layers heaped on layers of mistranslation. And when you force others to act as though they shared your beliefs, you cross a line set several times by Jesus himself. Somehow I have the nagging feeling that the end of the Great Commission was left out of your favored Bible version.

Also, you are dumb.

Since it's a friends only community...
[info]nessa_t
2004-02-15 03:44 pm UTC (link)
this is my reply...

Dear Thomas,

Erm... isn't it somewhere in the Bible that one have no right to judge people and adopt a superior attitude towards the so-called sinner? Because that's the kind of attitude you are adopting, my dear. (ie. Being gay is wrong. They will burn in hell. As I'm a Christain I'll be getting first class seats at the gates of heaven)

To use a Christian doctrine against people who reject the idea of a Christian God/ Christian principle is as foolish as the Malaysian officials who wanted to force non-Muslims into conforming to the Islamic rule. [/wank off]

I mean, who are we to judge? Besides, if we really want to bring in the concept of sin/sinning, it is ultimately for God to judge. We should just get off our high horse and do the right thing... ie. mind our own goddamned business.

And to "mind our own goddamned business" is something Islam thoroughly condone. I'm a Muslim, see? My religion does not support homosexual relationships. But do i go aroung trying to preach my beliefs? No. Because (repeat after me) I minded my own bloody business.

Maybe people should do that too. Try it sometime and come back when you have gotten off yer high horse.

*Now... can someone post this over at yaoi? Lol... no way i'm joining that. It's bad for my blood pressure*

Lord. Posting the rant in a yaoi community in the first place is uber-wank. But then the comm members respond...which, by Rules of Wank Engagement, means that they have validated it. So their wank is as wanky as the original, and just as mock-worthy. Shall I count the different ways that they are all saying exactly the same damned thing? And geezus Christ on a stick...despite agreeing that homosexuality and gay marriages are of the good, I really, really wish some of these people weren't on the same side of the issue as me.

Christians base everything they do on their stupid bible because they don't have brains enough of their own....I know what Christians are, I know their bible, I know how they work. And they still disgust me. Note: Not all are bad. A lot *are*.

Isn't there some jurisimprudence law -- and if there isn't, there really ought to be -- about flaming a group and then trying to have it both ways by tacking on "Not all are bad"? Cause this person sounds as idiotic as any gaybashin' right-wingin' post-tyin' homophobe. Next s/he's gonna be talking about how some of hir best friends are black and how s/he's a decent guy cause s/he "doesn't beat his bitches." And then s/he keeps pointing and telling people they're stupid cause they don't fall for that rather pointless disclaimer. And, being stupid, they then immediately proceed to fall for it that time around. ::snort::

And this is precious: Can I just watch yaoi and enjoy without thinking about anything else? The beauty of bad diction. I'm choosing to interpret is as "the only thing I want to think about in life is yaoi." ::shrugs:: Yeah, I like putting uncomplimentary spins on ambiguously worded phrases. What's it to you?

The placement of the post was pure flame bait, but I don't think the post itself was all that wanky.

See, I'm one of those filthy hippies who believe in freedom of thought. Everyone has the right to think/believe whatever they want. To me, saying " We're allowed to think this, but you're not allowed to think that" is just as wrong as saying "We're allowed to marry, but you're not", just in a different way. I can imagine that if someone really, truly believed that homosexuality was wrong, being constantly told "shut up, you intolerant bastard" when they tried to express their opinion would be very frustrating. The impression I got from the post is that the OP was saying that he was frustrated by that. And then he started preaching. But hey, part of the whole "freedom of speech" thing is that everyone else has the right to verbally kick your ass if they disagree with what you said. If that's what he wants, more power to him.

The catch is that belief is something completely different than action. Using one's beliefs as grounds for trying to limit what someone else can do with their lives is not cool. Personally I'd like to spit in Bush's monkey face for bringing up this DoMa crap. The rules in the Bible only apply to people who choose to follow them. This is a secular society, which means that people who don't want to let religion rule their lives don't have to.

So, yeah. Anyway. Can someone lend me a tissue?
