Fanfiction Writers -- The Unloved and Unappricated
Ah, Mediaminer -- there has to be a rule about packing so many anime fans into one site. You just end up with a critical mass of wank.

Disclaimer: I did make a few posts in thread, but nothing really wanky.

So, anyways, Akuma64 posts an e-mail from a fellow writer who has decided to quite writing fanfiction:

Due the hate and predijuice I get from www.fanfiction.net, and for offending a fellow author, I decided to take down all of my fanfics and requesting to have my account there cancel. And I also have decided to never make another fanfic ever again. Once ff.net answers my request I will also my accounts in other fanfic sites cancel as well. So that everyone will be happy and will never have to put up with my idiocy and my immaturity ever again.

If anyone actually wants my unfinished or complete work, please let me know.
Although I don't think you should give up just because of some jerk, I would like to see what you got.

The general forum response is that of confusion. Mari offers a possible explanation (note this for later):

Maybe it's because she feels bad for offending that author for not accepting his/her help and realize that she is unworthy and immature to make anymore fanfics

Mari later (three posts down) confesses that she is the author in the e-mail, and goes on to elaborate that she mistook a review another author in her sub-genre (anti-fiancee Ranma fic) gave her for a flame, and thus is unworthy to write fanfiction. Rational proposals from other forumgoers are rejected in the name of woe-is-me 'I will never write again, though I love it so' old-fashioned wangst.
