ETA: A brief f_w history of Gryffindor Tower, as requested below, in the order in which I found the wanks:

Cygnus makes Fandomopoly. GT gets all worked up about being associated with TEH EBIL pr0n dealers and threatens to sue. Or something.

The pottersginny wank gets even wankier when the racist troll links herself to Gryffindor Tower.

The same wank intensifies when lawyers are dropped into the fray

Gryffindor Tower implodes.

...and keeps on imploding.

...again, some more.

I'm fairly certain there's more; I remember there being more wanks than this, but the memories section is huge. It's kind of jumbled and insane.

Oh for God's sake this lot almost make me feel ashamed for reading the HP books and heaven forbid liking JK Rowling's version of both Harry and Ginny and indeed all her other characters. I feel almost tempted here to answer Tartanboxers plea:

I hadn't even heard of Gryffindor Tower until I read about their fall. The only thing I know them for is their wankiness.
From what I've seen, time and time age they have stepped out and made fools of themselves. It's what they're (in)famous for.

The whole concept of 'ship wars is...bizarre. So other people write about pairings you don't like. SO FUCKING WHAT? Why does it matter? Seriously, why? If there are any ardent 'shippers out there, could you help me with this. Can someone please explain to me the pain caused by the writing of other 'ships?
