How dare you oppress me by forcing me to cut spoilers!
As anybody who's anywhere near the HP fandom knows, the The Leaky Cauldron released the OoTP summary from the Scholastic catalog that sort of raised a fuss.

Even though I completely understand about not wanting to know any spoilers (Buffy spoiler vegan), I was still a little amused at some of the more stronger anti-spoiler reactions. But then I saw lavenderoracle's response to it all in

To those bitching about not wanting OotP "ruined" for them.

Go live in a cave for the next two months. This is the biggest literary event in HISTORY. Any of you hear about Dickens? When people in New York were CRYING OUT AT THE DOCKS to the people on board a ship from London carrying the latest serial "Is Little Nell Dead?" Yeah, this is kinda like that.

Fuck you all for making something that should be fun and exciting into some moral fucking dilemma. Do I spoil myself? Or do I remain pure? What if I lose my friends by letting something slip! Oh no! She'll hate me forever! And fuck you for assuming that people who want to read spoilers aren't as exicted about OotP. Aren't PURE NOBLE and GOOD fans. That somehow our excitement ruins your enjoyment.

Just, fuck you. Go live in a fucking cave and quit bitching about it. I don't want to hear it.

And then one more, although shorter and without the cursing, that even invokes the first amendment.

Still, the wank isn't over yet. Someone brilliantly responded to one of the stronger reactions by saying that if they want to avoid spoilers to just turn off their computer. Because putting spoilers in some kind of tag is just too much effort.

Edited: HTML is apparently too complicated for me.
