Martha Stewart mini-wank on Metaquotes!
This is itsy, but made me laugh.

[info]mhari posts something rather funny [info]ladyshrew said about teh 3bi1 that is Martha Stewart:

"Martha Stewart is demon spawn. I don't have a good, logical explanation for this, but I have always had an instinctual hatred/aversion to her. As I told Britt, for the longest time, I thought I must have been imagining her (when I was younger and hadn't been exposed to her as often), because obviously, something that evil couldn't be a real person from whom people actually buy dishes."

[info]jarbabyj takes it way too literally and promptly spazzes, and then when told to calm down, complains she's being silenced:

[info]jarbabyj: I get really assed up when people say Martha is evil. I, for one, as a caterer, a cook and a housekeeper, think Marth and her staff are a great creative inspiration. This is a woman who started off, literally as a pretty face. She was a model, but she wanted more. Admirable? You bet. So she became a stock broker, built a life and then had the courage to leave that life for something she loved. So she started a catering company ON HER OWN and built it into an empire.

So what makes her evil? She has a lot of money? I'd cut my arm off for that money or even a fraction of it, especially if it was something I built myself. She's got an attitude and a temper? Guess I'm evil too, and all my friends are evil...and let's not forget scads and scads of CEOs and CFOs across the country. Because she broke the law? That's terrible. She deserves punishment. I don't think it makes her evil.

I owe a great deal of my home, my cooking and my creativity to the inspiration of martha stewart. Calling her evil is so fucking boring and uninspired.

[info]_redpanda_: Chill.

[info]jarbabyj: oh, I didn't know we weren't allowed to respond in this community. Thanks for the tip.

Yes, tiny and unlikely to evolve into full-fledged drama... but an amusingly wanky overreaction nevertheless.

Bah! Talk about an overexaggerated reaction to a freely-admitted semi-sarcastic quote.

If I had a "your First Amendment rights are not being violated by my desire for you to shut up"-type icon, I'd be using it here. But I do not, so Beavis will have to suffice.

You do now. Largely because the minute you said it I wanted one too.

Icon Love! Mind if I gank it too? (I don't actually want to use it, I just desire to have it sitting around on my harddrive where I can give it a wistful look now and then, along with a bunch of other F_W related ones...) ^_~

Hee. You have my permission to steal, use, not use, drool on, perform unnatural sex acts with, fold, spindle or mutilate it.

Because she broke the law? That's terrible. She deserves punishment. I don't think it makes her evil.

No, it just makes her a CRIMINAL.

Everytime someone makes a claim that they "did all this on their own", I call BULLSHIT.

Especially when they say "I owe it all to *insert name here*" afterwards.

Either you did it all on your own, no outside help/inspiration needed, or you didn't.

You can't have it both ways.

Martha Stewart once said she'd sell her own mother for fame.

Evil? Maybe not. But she sure is a mean bitch.

Bugger me, fancy meeting Jarbabyj here. I know her from another board and - I know it's hard to believe - she's a screaming attention-seeking 'look at me' irritating drama queen over there.

Shockingly, I think this is the first I've ever gotten a cameo in wank. Ahh fleeting fame. ;-)

Calling her evil is so fucking boring and uninspired.

As is your attention whoring, please move elsewhere, kthxbi.
