The Twincest != sex thing is actually something that the GC fandom needs, since if you want to find stories about the twins fucking each other, you don't even have to look, but to find stories about the twins having subtle twincest, or actually exploring it beyond the "OMG! WE ARE SIBLINGS WHO LUVE EACH OTHER!! OMG SO FORBIDDEN BUT EVERYONE ACCEPTS AND IS OKAY WITH IT!!!1!" stuff that seems to be everywhere. Most people are too busy being "OMG FORBIDDEN" and less "Hmm... where can we go with this that hadn't been written a million times before".

Though if I were going to point out something wanky, I'd point to the demand for 'fluffy' twincest. Because in what universe is twincest every supposed to be fluffy? The point of twincest is to write about twins have a relationship that is both illegal and in no way healthy for them (and yes, also about teh hottness of identical twins getting it on, but that's been done to death already).
