there. now that that's out of the way, the media fandoms seem to be having ALL the fun lately, so some small funnehs from the Figure Skating Universe boards.

First, we have Michelle Kwan fans talking about her short program at Worlds. Figure skating-it's like sex, in a way. Only NOT.

Most of the funny for the non-skate-savvy can be found in the first page. For those who follow figure skating, in later pages the technical wank levels rise as fans of Sascha Cohen square off with the Kwannites. Alas, although nit-picky and chilly, it remains mostly civil, with occasional gems like:

"Somebody failed to send you the memo that all flutzes are not created equal."

"If Michelle wants to skate for just artistry and presentation, she should consider skating proffesionally [sic]. At the moment, she is part of a competitive sport known as figure skating."

There's also a slightly weirder offering, brought to you by the overlap of figure skating and Harry Potter (yeah, yeah, what can I do? It's inescapable!) Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be moving much, as most of the skatefen seem to be absolutely at a loss as to what to make of it. But it's so cute! both the demented OP and the 'eeeeew, creepy fanfic' replies.
