Not exactly fandom, but definitely wank!
Flames erupt on [info]colorbar_love!

It all started with a new colorbar on the community. Colorbar found here. Comments and flames pour in! While most are the more practical "This probably should have been under an LJ Cut", there is also the wanky whining of "OMG HOW COULD YOU MAKE SOMETHING LIKE THIS YOU SUCK."

Meanwhile, [info]fascists_suck makes a post about lj cutting "offensive colorbars" , "offensive" meaning stuff he doesn't like.

Random post pops up about freedom of speech .

Joy of joys, [info]fascists_suck is made a mod. "guess what, kids."

A response to his modding

And a final post is made in which he gloats about his power. "some of you may hate me, but it seems many others adore me."

Will be sure to update of any breaking wank later on.

And there's of course, Fun with Font Sizes!

Now taking bets on how long it takes for this community to implode in on itself!

I don't really see the need to have it cut or deleted or whatever. It's a political opinion, not something utterly unworksafe.

Wow. I mean, the offended are so totally correct here. The colorbars were meant as harmless fun, and then this stupid Bush guy had to come in and taint them with the icky stink of politics. If you're going to insist on dragging politics into a fun meme, you should at least have the decency to LJ-cut. That community would never, ever condone the open display of a colorbar that took a stance on a controversial issue. Ever.

Like Dawnswalker, I argue more that the Bush bar has no color in it.

Pro-Bush bars do sort of peeve me, only because the trend started as a pro-gay marriage deal. But eh, let them say what they want if they please. I'll just ignore it. :-)

Nnnng! Oh God, I don't think I've ever used this icon in a more worthy wank. There's nothing worse than a conservative who thinks he's a liberal because it's cool/socially acceptable/what his parents aren't. Being a liberal isn't about agreeing with the party line, it's believing everyone has equal rights, even people who want to take yours away.

Now I have to go slam my head against the wall until I've forgotten fascists_suck exists.

I wondered if this would make it here. Don't know if I'm glad or not...but at least my calling them all over there "wankers" in my own post (wherein I used the bar, thankyouverymuch) was a proper term.

I'm resisting the urge to leave a comment in every effin' pro-gay marriage colorbar post and ask them to LJ-cut it because it offends me as someone who's not entirely sure which side she's on in that battle, and doesn't want to be unduly influenced by gay propoganda. Hipocrisy knows no political sides. *sigh*

Okay, that community has gone from amusing to just fucking disgusting. I don't get the need for another Bush colorbar, but I guess reality hammer doesn't like me, doesn't like my "Dubya is Love" one, and decided to make an ugly bar. Ah well, such is life. :P

But I *will* say that the "Bush is Hate" colorbar was wanked, this thread was wanked, but my colorbar was not. My thread made me proud! *weep*
