	That RP story in New Voyages has always made me squirm, and its cutesy badness is one of the main reasons I tend to dislike RP fic of any kind. Perhaps if they'd all had a massive group fuck... Of course, so does pretty much all of both New Voyages. (Reply to this)(Thread)

	I liked New Voyages when I read them. Granted, I was 14 at the time. Of course for all the badness that was New Voyages, they can't compare to the terrific evil of "Price of the Phoenix." That more than Shatner himself, is why K/S always felt vaguely creepy to me. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

I hated the RP story even when I was 14, in that cringy Dad's-drunk-at-a-wedding-dancing-to-"Proud Mary" way one got when adults did something profoundly embarrassing. (The same feeling you get when listening to Nimoy or Shatner sing.)

Oh, God, the Phoenix books are bright and shiny and totally life-changing with the evil! (Subtext? What subtext? There's no sub - it's all text!) My God. Unputdownable. I've always wondered if Marshak/Culbreath/etc. were Satan's own evil genii, or queens of sublimation and repression.
