I *swear* I have this quote on my clipboard to comment on here, and damn, you beat me to it.

It's deliciously flamey, isn't it?

Oh, those wacky cunts kids.

Yeah, I thought that was almost wankier than the original post. I loved the reply, though,"Dude, it's an RPG. Chiiiiiil."

EX-Fandomer?

Honestly. Since when is Kate or myself "bitter ex-fandomers"? She threatened to leave a while ago, and couldn't because people wanted her to stay. If she's still active in the fandom, that just makes her bitter</i. If you're going to wank somebody, honestly, get the title right! No use flogging the dolphin the wrong way. *scoffity scoff* I mean, dude, if said bitter fandomers are EX-fandomers, we sure do waste a lot of time on all that fanfic and fanart. *pouts* By the way, do I get a star sticker? Or maybe a tinfoil hat? Mmm, star sticker.

Way to use the italic tag there. No stickers or hats, but I have some used gum, if you're interested.

Well, you know. It was a unique and beautiful typo!

And what flavor is (was) it? Sugar-free, I hope?

Mmm, pre-chewed gum.

Honestly. Since when is Kate or myself "bitter ex-fandomers"?

Since she admitted it herself.

She threatened to leave a while ago, and couldn't because people wanted her to stay.

You mean people DON'T have free will? This just shoots a huge hole in almost every major theology!

Well, er...First, I was being a sarcastic and self-depricative, not uppity. No need to get all snippity about it. I mean, geez. Didn't I just get done littering the net about that? Talk about people taking themselves too seriously.

And, obviously people have free will, but if you were pondering leaving the country and all of your friends said "NO! STAY!", you'de probably stay anyway. It's just being a good friend.

Did you? *hides face* I know nothing! I just happened across this on my friends-of page! And you are GOING DOWN for that "taking too seriously" comment! DOWN!

She should call the police. They'll help her escape.

What about me, do I count? Can I sit in the raft? Can I?

Cause I mean, a police escort would be sweet. It'd make me feel like some important political figure!

Duuuuuuuuuuuude... I hear everyone bitch and moan about how they wish they were one of the "inner circle" or whatever the heck they're calling it these days, but if this shit is any indication, it's more like the "inner circle of hell" than the inner circle of the HP fandom.

...HOW old are these people again? *is traumatized* *puts on tinfoil hat* *dances around, happy in my fandom obscurity*

What's the big deal about knowing who plays who in NA?

I will admit that as a fan, I am curious but I'm not DYING to know. Not knowing who anyone is played by doesn't alter my enjoyment of the game.

Is this an anti-inner circle inner circle thing?

(Reply to this)(Thread)

[info]phosfate
2003-04-17 01:00 am UTC (link)
I dunno. The only game I've been in, I went to great effort to not know who played who. Knowing a character's real-life identity made it difficult to interact in, er, character.

Dude...the enormous wank potential is why I stay away from the famous people journal sort of RPG.

In the first wrestling, RPG people who played characters started looking down on and excluding those who are "just fans", forgetting that, er, they're just fans too, thank you very much. Some of the "fans" tried to suck up to the "characters" by being snotty to other "fans" and it was a very annoying little place to be.

You know what we need? We need a F_W RPG, where other people can play the parts of FWers and roleplaying wanking threads. I want to be played by St*rmfr**k She Who Must Not Be Named.

They just make it too damned easy, don't they?

And I love all the cries: stop, or they'll wank us! Lock it! Hide our shame!

*snicker*

I'm so pleased she didn't lock it. That alone has probably saved her LJ comments from exploding with EVEN MORE wankiness. Because some people have actually started to learn that they should conduct themselves more ... fittingly ... in public.

You certainly don't need to reitterate that to me after your blazingly intelligent monkey commentary.

although, note to percy_weatherby, perhaps one ought to hit spell check when one is rather pointedly grabbing for the intellectual high ground. or maybe that's just me.

...and I can't believe I read the whole thing. _o_

Let me see if I understand correctly.

--there's bad history between at least two of the people commenting and lavendaroracle regarding an lj-rpg, one of the players, and "stalking"; no clue how long ago or in what way this all went down
--lavendaroracle makes a slightly bitchy comment, and a criticism, of the lj-rpg in what looks like an "everyday" post
--some people interpret the bitchy comment as a very snide remark directed to the lj-rpg; they seem to be players on said lj-rpg
--lavendaroracle says the comment was in reaction to a post on a fan-community of said lj-rpg (O_o;;) and that she wasn't targeting anyone specifically
--shite hits the fan at different places in the comments, and the bad history is brought up in the resulting FUBAR
--a friend of lavendaroracle steps in to give her moral support; the shite spreads to the friend as well

Does that sound about right?
