Final Fantasy Wank.
ender___ has been posting in the finalfantasyart community on lj starring not just Final Fantasy characters, but an original character (we'll use that term as to let FWers decide what else it may be referred to I'm just reporting this one, not making judgments on it).

Well, laceyleopard posts a bit of a sniping remark at ender___ asking:

I also find it interesting that some people don't pay attention to the rules: ender___, I'm talking about you. The rules state that there must be a Final Fantasy character in the picture. Why isn't she modded for all of her pictures of Rylie alone?

You know ender___ can't let that one go, right? Right?

Oh, just for reference... This is the original character in question. With Squall.

I don't know what's worse... ender's antics or that some of the people critiquing ender's stuff later sound all high n' mighty about how sucky ender's work is. then you look at their work and... whoa... ender kinda blows 'em away...

If I was in the group, I'd post that I'd rather have ender's mary sue than someone else's badly drawn/colored smut, but I'm not in the group. :-P

But the picture you chose wasn't really a good one, though I realize it's the most recent. Actually, if you look at some of laceyleopards other stuff she's not bad.

The unfortunate thing is I think that lacey and the other one had a pretty decent case but thier attitude turned everyone against them.

Can't help it, I rather like laceyleopards really bad artwork. Maybe it is my really bad taste.
Also, she gets a cookie for her reply to Mahanaxars post. Guess that makes her the winner in my book.

But with the displayed lack in both social and wanking skills, I really wouldn't give their respective artistic progress top priority.

Yes, I agree with that. She also gets a cookie for her reply to the anon.

I mean, AFAIK, the only company that I know that's EVER had an established gay character is Atlus and that was in Innocent Sin, which was never released in the US. As for "making it obvious", well, some people seem to think that Auron/Rikku are "obvious", so "obvious" doesn't mean anything to me, especially since I think that Baralai is "obviously" predominately homosexual. Huuhuhhuhuhu.

And I think that only counts if you choose that relationship. [Gotta love the Persona series, the only RPG where you actually can put your character in a gay relationship.]

And I think we had lesbian twins in one of the Fatal Frame games, and wasn't there a lesbian couple in Fear Effect 2?

We were juuuuuuust talking about this; there was an article on gay influences in games in Slate the other day.

The best example I've got that's absotively definite is an NPC from Morrowind who is ragingly bisexual, and absolutely fucking hilarious to boot. (I'm a fan, does it show?) Some people list other examples in that thread, too (Fallout 2, Xenosaga, Fear Effect).

I always thought that Ashton from Star Ocean 2 dropped some pretty strong hints. What with the asking Claude on a date, and ordering a Heartthrob, and the waitress saying what a cute couple they were and everything (in the Japanese version that's what she says, anyway. In the US version it was changed to some crap about the dragons).

Then there's the fact that his ideal type of girl is "nice and tidy, with pure thoughts". So, if his perfect woman is one that he doesn't actually have to sleep with...

Oh, how stuff like this makes me want to scan all of my extremely crappy Final Fantasy 7/Tactics art that I did in 8th grade...you know, dress it up with Photoshop (lens flares ahoy!) and add really lame, angsty quotes.

Dude, I liked Ender's artwork. Even with the original character. Whatever, man. For some reason, I find written Mary Sues more offensive than well drawn original characters.

I see no smackdown unto me, Laguna (read: MORON). I see a perfectly well thought out conversation between two teens, one whom happens to be older than the other. Ender and I are on speaking terms and have yet to piss each other off. As for the other people who've commented, they have had nothing bad to say either.

I'm struck by laceyleopard's little bit 'o snotty, there. No one else cared that ender was posting her Mary Sue (and she's by far the best artist on there, as far as I'm concerned and as far as FFVIII is concerned) until lacey spoke up. And the mod doesn't seem to have anything to say about it, so why doesn't everyone just get the hell over it and shut the fuck up? (Or y'know, leave and post their work elsewhere...)

Unless laceyleopard is one of the people in charge, I don't think she has any business saying that. Reminding a person of the rules is one thing, but saying something like "She should be punished for that!" is just being a tattletale hall monitor. =P
