So y'all know...
I live ahout 3 miles from a town with the greatest name I've ever heard, and I think you all will share my opinion of it.

Wanker's Corners, Oregon.

Does this consist of a general store at the crossroads of "Rings Road" and "Potter Place"? ;)

Highlights along the way are Auntie Allegro's House 'o Tin and the not-exactly-preserved archeological site of the Gryffindor Tower ruin.

It sounds like it belongs in the best production of "Our Town" ever.

If I lived in that town, I would ride through the center daily, windows down, blasting Jack Off Jill's "This Town".

Hell yeah.

I so need to move there.

The Royston Vaisey (sp) sign needs to be changed again.

was googling for a possible street sign when i found this:
Wanker’s Corner, a well-known supper club . . . is a full-service restaurant and bar, seating approximately 150 to 200 patrons on weekend nights. On weekends it employs 2 or 3 bartenders, 4 or 5 table servers, and 4 or 5 doormen, in addition to kitchen personnel . . .
*lol!*

Most appropos.

I, OTOH, grew up in Peculiar MO, banked in Tightwad, married a man from Lame Deer MT and now live not too far from Greasy Corner AR.

My roomie has an account at Blue Ball Bank, based in the illustrious Blue Ball, PA.

Ah, those sexually repressed Amish and their silly town names.

You're missing the best part: Blue Ball is right near Intercourse, Paradise and Bird-in-Hand.

I wonder what would happen if all of us just up and moved there one weekend? Wanker's Corner would never know what hit it.

And naturally, we'd bring the wank. They'd have to change the name to Wankiest Corners. :)

I second this, and vote that we set up a theme park. Something that is similar to Disney Land. It would be called, of course, Wanker Land. After all, if Disney Land is "the happiest place on earth"...

I used to live a few miles away from a parish called 'Twatt'. My sister still lives there, and develops photos at the local chemist. I suspect at some point in the next few years she's going to buy a gun and start shooting tourists who have their picture taken under the road sign.
