VadaWank
First post, be gentle. Oh hell, don't bother.

The spooge debate is on at tF.n: Will Hayden's Voice Be DEEP Enough In Episode III???

JEJ said that he was told that the Vader helmet reads Anakins thoughts then vocalizes him, no part of the vader voice comes from the physical being (ie wind pipe or mouth) of Anakin.

Really? Now this is a new one on me.

Wow, Anakin must really have to clear his mind and not think to himself very often. Otherwise, we'd have Vader lines like,

"I wish my crusty old Master would change his cloak once in a while."

"I wonder if I should have hit on Dorme instead, back in the day? She was pretty cute, too."

"This mask is so annoying. I've had an itch on my face for 20 years and I can't scratch it."

The real wank ensues when Midgetsforbreakfast decides fanboys and girls are not taking his post seriously enough:

"Wow, that's just what I said IEP.

WHY DIDN'T YOU READ MY POSTS!?"

Okay--this kind of crap, from a MOD nonetheless, is ridiculous.

It isn't MY fault that people are not reading my entire first post and are not responding to the actual question I am raising. But now MODS are actually DEFENDING those that are doing this and making fun of ME for getting upset about it!?!

Hey, Roland--how 'bout you do your job.

Either way--please lock this thread. As it's author I have every right to ask for it to be closed. And since so many people, MODS included, are not going to actually read what it is about and discuss that I'd much rather it just be locked. Can you at least do that part of your job?

Wow. *writes self a note* Even if I'm right, I can still be wanky.

The OP waaay overreacted to the other posters being infuriating.

I can see his point: A squeaking Anikin would kinda take away from the whole "decent into dark and madness" thing. He should not be singing "When it's Time to Change" from the Brady Bunch Puberty Special when going to the dark side.

However, I don't care.

Sidenote: Merci, noted. :D

Yeah, he's right about that, but I think Hayden's normal speaking voice and intonation will be more than adequate for Ep III. Anyway, it's wanky and I had to share.

I understand StarWarsShop.com has them [lives] on sale, as a package insert for the new Clone Wars cartoon pin set.

I feel for you Midget. Too many people here post their 'oh-so accurate' opinions on these boards before actually reading the original post involved. Too amny fanboys have become sooo arrogant that they read a topic title and automatically have an answer.

Disregarding WTF amny means, yes. You are absolutely right. We should not assume the topic title has ANYTHING to do with the thread itself.

I bow to your superior intellect.

Please die now.

I could care less about his voice, really, as long as he learns how to ACT *tumble*

I've heard rumors that he actually can act. It's hard to tell when he's working with the director who managed to wrest wooden performances out of Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, and Samuel L. Jackson.

The rumors are greatly exaggerated. He has exactly 3 expressions: pissed off, crying and evil. Oh, and "Startled" if we count In the Mouth of Madness.

I'm sorry. The makeup was the most interesting thing about him in Life as a House except maybe his willingness to be prostituted.

Oh, I don't know. I think he pulled off "smug" pretty well in Shattered Glass.

Either way, he's pretty.

If that was his "evil" look he was working in AotC, he needs to work on it some more. It looks a lot less like evil than like snotty-teen.

*cracks up laughing* Frankly, I'm of the "pox on both your houses" school. Lucas can't direct and Hayden can't act. The only interesting thing about the prequels was Darth Maul.

Amen to that :D. Though you gotta admit Amidala's army of costume designers were impressive, if not...ridiculously impractical.

I'll give you -- Lucas would make a GREAT setting designer and SFX guy. He's just a crappy writer and a lousy director, able to somehow create wooden performances from otherwise great actors. And he HASN'T gotten better with age.

And, thanks! :) It's a li'l penguin that sits on my girlfriend's desk. She snapped a photo of him and told me to use it as a pic.

Word. I've never understood what other people see in Darth Maul. The double-bladed lightsaber is just bloody impractical; all things considered, I'd think one would be more likely to slice off own legs than hit any opponent.

I would LOVE it if that happened. Story-wise it'd be a bit wick, of course (c'mon JKR, that was done in 1983!), but it'd be worth it just to see the Potter fandom implode. :-D

*pictures the spooge implosion*

I must be jaded, but I think I'd have to pop some popcorn and watch those fireworks. I wrote the teensiest bit of Potter and left due to teenies and spooginess. I watch Potterdom now because the fandom is almost as amusing as the books are!

Oh, how I love it when they start whining that it's "their" thread and people should stop posting in it.

One would think that such a giant fandom with five movies, countless books, and about a billion characters would have better things to wank talk about than tenor vs. bass.

But when they've had decades to wank over it, the old stuff just gets a bit raw... so they try lubing with even less important issues.

I'm all up on the "Hayden Christenson is a shitty actor" bandwagon (when you get out-acted by CGI puppets with no dialogue, there might possibly be a problem), but...

How the hell can anyone have a badass enough voice to portray Darth Vader as he was in the original trilogy? I don't think anyone could match James Earl Jones' voice in terms of deepness.
