[cries!] BUT HE DRAWS THE FUNNIES!!!!!
A year or so ago Lucas Phelps, writer/artist of the webcomic Skritch got pissed at his wife and intentionally(?) crashed his car, killing a pregnant mother. He plead guilty to the charge and has just now been sent to prison.

Of course his fans are sympathetic to "Poor Lucas". But it'll be okay. He's working on the webcomic in prison. How unprecedented!

Naturally, Randy Millholland, writer/artist of Something Positive thinks the sympathy is misplaced and says so.

David McG brings the spooge:

Well, he might feel really, really bad about killing someone.

"How does intentionally setting out to have a car wreck make the DEATH less of an accident?"

An anonymous guy disputes the facts. Randy shoots back saying he researched.

Well the press aren't always right!

It seems to have ended now, but sheesh... @_@

Wow, newfound respect for Milholland. Other than that... just... what the crap is this. That's all. What the crap.

Indeed. I've always liked S*P when I've bothered to read it (I don't tend to follow web comics unless I have them friended on LJ...which I should get around to doing for S*P and Sinfest as well, since the only one I have friended is [info]chaobell's strip), but man, he's doing a great job working on with the distraught fans over there.

As for what happened, well, road rage is never a good excuse. (Being drunk is arguably worse, but apparently this wasn't the case.) Even when I've been mad as hell, I've usually driven sensibly.

Damn right. Me, I'm a pedestrian. Who nearly got run over earlier today by some fuckwit who was too busy yelling at his kid to check for pedestrians or other cars. Luckily I was still a bit short of that lane when he turned right across an oncoming lane of traffic and zoomed through the pedestrian crossing, although me and his kid (dad was still yelling and never saw me) both absolutely shat ourselves.

If you're too angry to drive sensibly, you pull over and sit by the side of the road screaming swearwords and biting the steering wheel until you feel better. If you don't feel any better, you walk home.

Amen. Or too fucking stupid.

I hate-hate-hate college drivers. Even though I suppose I technically am one.
I didn't think that are campus had too much of a problem with it, since mostly I hang out with townies and don't often spend a lot of time in student-intensive areas. But over the weekend I was walking around one of the neighborhoods where all of the people who I hate even more than college drivers Greek houses and the idiots who got kicked out of campus housing are concentrated. While I was crossing a road, some moron tried to make a left turn against a red signal and nearly ran me over. That freaked me out and still kind of pisses me off.

But what puzzles me about it is that I was walking around with a fairly large group of people from a volunteer project I'm working on. There were ten of us. I guess I can sort of understand how someone in a big hurry might overlook one person, but how the hell do you not notice ten people in the middle of the road?

Definately my favorite part of this wank is the repeated error of spelling "reckless" as "wreckless." I mean, come on. That's just too perfect.

Though a little annoyed at Randy for starting another comic when he's having trouble keeping up with the first one, I gotta admire his guts here.

I think it's called Golden Dream, it's basically the illustrated adventures of Aubrey's RPG.

Sadly finding the Seven Cities of Gold is easier than finding a f*&^%^% link.

Whee, more Aubrey. @.@ Ah well. I took a look at it, and it does seem pretty funny. But yeah, you're right, seems a bad idea to start up a new comic when you can't keep a schedule for your old one.

Don't you mean PeeJee? It would make sense since she's not really in it, being the Dungeon Master and all, right?

At least I think. I'm not a roleplayer.

I think it was stated that it's Aubrey's RPG, but since I can't find the darn thing, I can't check.

No doubt this is the wrong thing to take away from all this, but I really loved one of the replies about "the KARMA FAIRY STOMPING ON THIS DUMBFUCK WITH HER SIX-INCH STAINLESS STEEL STILETTO HEELS."

Actually, I think the thing everyone needs to take away from this is "keep your ass out of your fucking car when your judgement is impaired by alcohol, drugs, or RAGE."

Well, yeah, hence it being the wrong thing. The entries were these very serious stories about real people's lives getting fucked up by assholes behind the wheel, and then I read that comment and I couldn't stop laughing.
