Ocean's Twelve Wank (and it isn't even filmed yet)
First wank ... yadda yadda ... be gentle ... etc etc.

I think this counts as a fandom wank (the fandom in question being the movie geeks over at Aint-It-Cool.com).

ED209 posts an update of how the Ocean's Twelve crew (George Clooney, Steven Soderburgh and Brad Pitt) are heading on over to Amsterdam for a four week shoot in the Dutch capital here. His news story includes a joke at the expense of the furore that Janet 'wardrobe malfunction' Jackson's boob popping provoked outrage in the "uptight" (his words, not mine) "United States of the World.

Cue spooge on the talk board, theoretically there for discussing the movie news nugget but actually turning out to be a board for discussion of National Socialism and whether Hitler was a liberal.

Highlights include:

- a discussion as to what Nazism really means from maradona,

- a comparison of 'new world' -v- 'old world' by vikingkitty, and

- judas's priest claiming that the proletariat don't need saving.

It's only a little wank, but I enjoyed it.

And the best part is she completely ignored the definition of the word Nazi. I'd have thrown it in for kicks, mainly because it's not National Socialist. It's Bavarian slang for Idiot, which I guess is why they never actually called themselves that. XD

I learned it by stealing a free history class when I wasn't enrolled at the college sitting in on one of my husband's classes when he was in college a few years back. The professor had supposedly called all over Germany, trying to get the answer. No one knew. Then one day, on a whim, he talks to this girl who grew up in Bavaria during the whole Nazi thing. She told him, while chuckling, what the word meant.

I have spent a lot of time laughing at self proclaimed neo-Nazis since. XD

Then I must have spent all those years in school for nothing, because 'Nazi' is the short form of Nationalsozialist. No one in their right mind over here in Germany and Bavaria would call anyone a 'Nazi' if they meant to call them an 'idiot'. I've never even heard that before in that connotation. This Bavarian probably said that they were idiots, not that 'Nazi' is a slang for idiot.

And if that was an inside joke, feel free to slap me. Just a bit confused here.
