InuYasha Pron Fanart Wank continues
So, last week we had the following lovely summary of Urd making a website devoted to InuYasha Pron and posting up over 100 pieces of hentai fanart, without a single credit to the artists.

Well most of the wank has been going on in the guestbook (saved copy) (current copy with deleted posts here: guestbook) with several comments telling her to credit fanart, and now a new one by an artist who gave her permission until she saw the actual gallery:

Name/Alias:
Lin, Author of Otherworld

Comments:
Asmodeus, if you are telling me to shut up -- then you've got a problem. Perhaps you like seeing your work on an obcene site like this -- but I don't.

To clarify, I did give Urd-chan permission but that was before I saw the site. She promised me a separate page and I expected it to be a tasteful site. Sites that advertise "big clits" are not tasteful. And I hereby rescind my persmission. Please take my artwork off your site immediately.

P.S. Your email does not work. Everything I send you comes back as undeliverable.

Then, someone apprently sent a private message to Asmodeus which that person forwarded with comments to Urd's Yahoo group ( Inuyasha_ecchi_doujinshi ) trying to act as a moderator. Urd did not appreciate the effort. She rants again about how she's done absolutely nothing wrong, since other people stole the fanart without permission before she did, and threatens the person who was simply trying to help her out:

"You might want to look up the definition of "negotiator", too. What you
have done here is not negotiation. It's a downright attack. I don't
appreciate it, and let's just say that I'm not happy about it. Next time,
be sure you get your facts straight. And, then, if you have an issue with
someone, contact them directly. Don't go public with it unless all else
fails. What you have done here is libel. And, you have gotten on my bad
side. I'm usually a pretty nice person. You probably aren't going to see
much of that side of me at this point. I've been attacked. I won't forget
it."

The sender of the private message just has to send another one chewing Urd out

In the mean time Urd has deleted all of the negative posts from her guestbook except the newest ones. I'm waiting for things to heat up!

Edit: Things HAVE remained lively!
Urd's self-righteous reply to the flame
The negotiator "not" comparing Urd to Nazis
Urd throwing up because everyone is so mean to her

I've been watching it go down in realtime... she's honestly one of the biggest drama queens I've ever seen. She's even brought in suicide, in one of her more recent wahmbulence calls. (As well as talking about getting one of her beloved daughters, who's in high school, to help her with her hentai gallery. c.c)

Uhm... does she not know it's not libel if it's true? And how was she supposed to get in direct contact with her if her mailbox is bouncing the artist's own e-mails?

Oh my god--- this is absolutely hilarious.

Given that I'M the one that the stolen fanart in question was given as a gift to, I can say that I did not donate the art to any websites like she seems to think. The only place it was uploaded was a private storage file on http://www.ainself.net. So if anyone nabbed it from there--- they stole it. (Not to mention the version Urd has on her site is not the original. The background is changed and InuYasha's hair is completely pixelized.)

I'm one of the several people who have emailed Urd about not only this artist, but a few others. And that has been several people, and more than one of them has given Urd a link to the artist's deviantart account with the email readily available as well as many other things to prove whose art it is.

Well apparently her email address isn't working. I mean that is so totally not Urd's fault! How can she be expected to have a functioning email address on a page on which she says "Email me and I'll gladly give you credit" And the first concerened messages were *only* about a month ago! html is like so totally hard, it's going to take at least 6 months to get credits to the first artist posted, but that's only natural!

i can't believe her big moral justification is "a bunch of other people have already posted all this art without credit, so that makes it ok for me to take it tooooooo!" yeah, of course this happens all the time, but most people have enough shame not to act self-righteous about it when they get caught. what a skullfucking idiot.

Lots of other people go out and drive drunk, or kill people, or do all sorts of stupid shit. It sure as hell doesn't make it a good idea to follow their example, but that concept seems to have eluded her.

She writes fanfics, right? Can't someone just make a webpage with all her fanfics on it and not credit her, then just say "well I found them on the internet and I guess the name got lost"
=P
Or is that to subtle for her, do you think?

Ahhhh I hope her server crashes. That would simplify everything. ^___^
Why doesn't Karam work?

I don't get it. It's NOT THAT HARD. You don't steal fanart, you don't steal fanfic, you don't steal webgraphics...(okay, that one's an even grayer area because the images didn't belong to you originally...but yeah.)
Maybe if I hit my head against this wall for awhile it will make more sense...

I have to admit.. I really do appreciate the amount of time she puts into scanning things for everyone. But her attitude is just insane. She's so self-righteous that nothing she does can ever be wrong in any way. She's so inconsiderate of everyone else, other IY fans are simply here to worhip her and kiss her feet. I know she has a hard life, but that simply doesn't excuse her actions, and this is incredibly hypocritical.

i had a similar arguement with someone a few weeks ago when a person tried to claim they hadn't stolen art because they had a) emailed asking for permission and b) thanked the artist for her work on her site. It didn't seem to matter that permission was not granted.

It's simple really, not rocketscience.
Artwork belongs to the people that make it.
If you want to put it on your website, you must ask permission unless they clearly state permission is not nessesary.
If you do not get that permission, if you still put up that image, it is stealing.
It does not matter if you thank them, praise them or post your own "do not steal these images" disclaimer.
Credit MUST be given to artists, if not then it is stealing.
If the artist finds your website and tells you "Please take down my artwork, i do not want it on your page" then if you do not comply, that is stealing. It does not matter if you give them credit at this point; ignorance of their explicit instructions to you is stealing. It does not matter if you were previously given permission, the artist has the right to change their mind about how and where their art is displayed.
If you don't like it, go create your own art and then you can have total control of where and how it is shown.
People may not like these "rules", people may think it's too "harsh" to be called stealing for putting up an image on their website, but those are the consequences that are risked by putting up artwork not your own on your website. Sometimes artists are easy going and don't care about half the conditions i mentioned. Some demand strict adherence. It's the gamble you take *s*

Urd's claims that she doesn't know enough about HTML to give credit to the artists on the pages or take them down until they are properly credited by someone else is either complete bullshit or she's denser than sockcheese. How hard is it to add text SOMEWHERE, even if it looks weird or shitty, and that don't matter cos she's redoing the galleries anyway right? Or, even better, how is it hard to just take a page down? It's not that different from deleting an email or a file on your computer.... and if not her well obviously SOMEONE is deleting the guestbook entries, they should swing by and take down the badly done galleries too! LOL

For the record: anybody who really can't manage the HTML needed to give the most basic credits for pictures on a website...

...is incapable of also managing the HTML for:

  • Links

  • Images

  • Headings

  • Ruled lines

  • Bold text

  • Italic text

  • Body tags

  • Title tags

  • Any & all HTML, really

Oh, yes, and shouldn't be touching even a WYSIWYG HTML editor.

Ridiculous as Urd-chan's It's on the internet, so I can use it! arguments are, my prime wank vote goes to Lin. Deciding a site isn't tasteful and you don't want to have your art on it after all is fair enough, as was the guestbook entry where she requests this. Why didn't she do If she admits she did give permission, though, shrieking THIEF! instead of admitting she'd changed her mind is deliciously kindergarten behaviour.

Heh, she's mentioning suicide again.

Sorry, but I'm not in a very good place this morning. Don't expect to get many posts from me for a while. Life sucks. Quite frankly, if it wasn't for my three wonderful children, I wouldn't be here at all. Up until now I've had Inuyasha as an outlet. Guess that's all gone to hell now, too.

Just thought I'd mention that.
