Mini-wank on bowie_daily: How DARE they taint Bowie's image with Avril Lavigne and 50 Cent?

Highlights include: Avril's a flake! - Avril can't even pronounce the word Bowie! - Avril's never even HEARD of Bowie!!!

And, uh... this.

Like I say, a small wank but a cute one.

okay, I never thought I would say this about Avril Lavigne hate, but jeez, dial it down a notch. It's not like it's something SHE actually did that requires mockery:

"Hey, we're doing an ad, would you like to be in front? Because you're far more relevant and influential than Bowie."

"Oh, liek omg fer sure! i r much g00derer t3hn h1m!1!!!eleven"

People, it's an ad for Rhapsody, not a tribute album. They're appealing to the population they wanna get started using, not us cynical oldsters who probably already have it all on tape anyway.

ICON SQUEE!!!!!! ~ahem~ that movie is such delicious cinematic cheese it should come with crackers. it also occurs to me I need at least 1 f_w icon that isn't unregenerately bitchy. must work on that, yes.

and I'ma get a lil' spoogy there. No shame for liking Avril, I just don't (~points to icon, which successfully loses me ANY pretense at some sort of elitist music taste~) Or, I take that back. I do enjoy her, because watching her pick fights in print with the other teen princesses that she so desperately doesn't want to be is the funneh.

Word! Every cliche in the book, including bad French pronunciation ("dar-TAN-yun," my ass), plus Brat Packers in nifty outfits! What's not to mock love?

It occurs to me that Avril would make an excellent grumpy chibi. The more angry and punk and badass she tries to be, the more I want to pinch her cheeks and ruffle her hair. She's just so CUTE when she's mad!
