Inuyasha Icon War!
kikyounosorrow posts several icons she just made to the inuyasha livejournal community.

At the very bottom is this icon:

First on the scene, we have the canon rape accusation via icon. It turns into an all out icon war.

And then someone says the icon is mean spirited!

And the crowd goes wild. Careful if you're sitting in the first ten rows, you might get splooged on.

Edit: Someone took it seriously enough to report it to hated_character.

I didn't read cowgirled's response as being wanky. I just read it as... she inspired/requested/something the icon, and responded with one she managed to obtain before the animated one was posted.

Maybe I'm missing some context, 'cause I don't get it.

And if characters shouldn't be taken so seriously, then why is she putting so much time and hard work into maintaining a website dedicated to the series and her own favorite characters?

Because most people use things like websites for fun and recreation.

And usually doing things that are fun, meaning concentrating on what you like.

Or am I completely nuts here?

I don't have a JF account, but on LJ I'm known as blumchen aka yummymoto, and I've dealt with cowgirled on several occaisions. The girls a freak... she stalks down people insulting her precious Kagome and then flames them until they give up. Kagome is NOT REAL. It's just an icon, and anybody who takes their shit that seriously should be shot.

This was really an immature thing. Complaining over a simple icon--that was merely a mockery amongst other ones. There has been many Inuyasha mockery icons, but now since someone's made a Kagome one, they decide to speak up and say it's bashing.

Calling someone whiny is not bashing. It is merely an opinion--and opinion amongst every other Inuyasha-fanatic.

People take bashing a bit too seriously, even if I myself don't necessarily appreciate bashing--I defend characters to an extent. The icon was meant to be funny. Those who thought it was funny comprehended it. Others didn't, because they take every little semi-offensive detail as serious as if it was the end of the world.

Next time you see a gag icon, chillax, sit down, breathe, suck it up, and get on with life. If a character's labeled whiny, remember--they're whiny in that person's point of view. Not yours. You honestly shouldn't give a flying damn.

I see nothing wrong with the icon. Of course, I hang out in the Buffy fandom, where we get anti-Spike icons that are downright cruel (and not the character, but to those who like him), but don't care. So maybe I'm alittle desensitized. heh

I might be more inclined to agree with the, uh, "anonymice" with regard to cowgirled if the OP in question didn't have the handle "Kikyounosorrow".

I'm sure Kikyounosorrow is a lovely, unbiased person... but it sure smells an awful lot like yet another round of fandom politics.

I know I might be the only Fandom Wanker with this opinion but... God, I love the anonymice. In all the wanks, but especially in this Heifer-bashing one. I still can't help but think cowgirl's intentions weren't completely... diplomatic. *shrugs* She went looking for a fight and kikyounosorrow gave it to her. However, kikyounosorrow really could have... well, dismissed her. Oddly enough though, I don't really care that she didn't. Kikyounosorrow seems kinda of like... hahaI'mbitchybitchbitchbitch. Which I can deal with (and at times appreciate... what? the icon was funny). Cowgirl, however, seems to be the type of person who would campaign for the legalization of brainwashing, given the chance. And that makes my head hurt...

Unfortunately I don't have a link for the kikyou_lovers drama. I was under the impression the that all the comments have been deleted... But kikyounosorrow has put up a public post giving her take on what happened...
