DBZ and Roleplaying
I bring you more wank from the Guardians of Order forums. It's small, but a good one.

RatBastard asked if anyone knew about fan conversions of GoO's BESM system for Dragonball Z -- this isn't really an unusual question, as many people ask 'How do I do /blank/ in /insert system here/?' And he gets a few helpful responses, mostly steering him towards people who asked the question before and got answers.


Ninja Poe Bear makes a vague comment on having some ideas, and adds:

"Now if I can get in contact with Conkle, before he puts out his PLs (so many errors) for the next book." (My (next-to-no) knowledge of DBZ fandom fails me -- can anyone supply an explanation?)

Myoka takes exception to this and past issues on another board come up:

" Mr. Christian Conkle does not like being referred to by only his last name, and with the stink you raised at the RTal boards, which I left because of the dead community and game system, I don't believe Mr. Conkle would listen to your opinions anyway."

Ninja Poe Bear tries to pull BNF status:
"Then have him say that to me. Because I have been calling him that for a long, long time.

And also, the stink came from the moderator, and the fact he never did his job really. All he did, as a fact, is find somebody to blame for the fact he was a lousy moderator. [I can name three moderators at the forum I currently moderate, who could do a far superior job than he has ever done.] And the fact the owners of R.Talsorian for not doing anything, since he was doing it for free.

And oh yeah... After I left that community, I ended working for Beckett... Twice. I wrote "There's Something About Gohan" (which I got praise for), which was published in Beckett DBZ Collector #19. A year later, I wrote "There's Something About Majin Buu", which was published in Best of DBZ #8.

I ended up getting congrats from a number of FUNimation voice actors.

So you wanna restate what you just said to me? Or have you done something far superior for the DBZ community than I have?

I rest my case.

And besides, Conkle's work on the Power Levels... Well... Are off in many spots. He left out the Ultra Super Saiyan form for Vegeta, and Ultra Super Saiyan 2 form for Trunks. His numbers for Piccolo are too high. And his numbers for Gohan, Android 16 (I believe), and Cell are too low."

Myoka calls his bluff:
"I'm not slighting either of your articles for Beckett, which were both well written, and the only slight I can give them is bad layout and overall appearance, which not your fault.

What I'm slighting you for is your apparent inability to take any form of criticim as anything other than a direct attack on you.

Also, just go over to the Rtal boards and ask Mr. Conkle if he likes being called by his last name only. He mentioned earleir that he finds it rude to do so.

What I've done for the Dragonball community is nothing near what you've done. I've only been an ardent fan for over 10 years, bringing a multitude of persons to dragonball and anime in general, teaching them the joys of all of Mr. Toriyama's work as well as anything else they find even slightly interesting.
I have not added any published works, only mnay new faces and fans."


I don't know what is better -- the wank, or the fact both of them feel the need to put on-topic gaming tips for DBZ at the bottom of thier posts.
