Anyway, there's this j-rocker named Hide. Today (or actually, yesterday) is his death day. He committed suicide (intentionally or not is still up for debate) for reasons that people were never able to determine.
Aaaanyway, Hide communities and such are flooded with poetry, banners, and other such things.

Someone thinks all this is somewhat ridiculous and says so in no uncertain terms

Mourning for a lost someone - even if you didn't know them personally - is not something to make fun of. It's called "paying your respects". If someone touches you in some way with their actions or words, you have the RIGHT to feel something for them. You seem to NOT understand how death affects people. It's the physical loss that the mourning is about. Moreover, it's a PSYCHOLOGICAL reaction triggered by past deaths of loved ones. Although the people who mourn for hide never knew him personally, it was what they knew of him that makes them feel this way.

it's a joke. it's macabre, but funny. what 5oio2 did was tasteless, but he or she obviously accomplished what they wanted-- which was to get a reaction from a bunch of silly fangirls. i mean, yes, i love hide, and his contribution to Japanese music, but i was 11 when he died. i would have to say out of events in my life, that this was a blip-- and yes, i am a pretty big fan, although not like ichiban hide no otaku or something. i buy plushies and have posters and CDs and everything. however, i wonder if hide would even be considered as big as he is right now had he not died. look at other artists who were just as talented, if not more so, who are doing things now, like J, Sugizo, Shinya, Chiroyn, Yoshiki and so on. hardly anyone in the non-Japanese fan scene cares about them-- they're no longer young and pretty. look deep in your heart. i know you love his music, but i think it would a lie to say that most of us aren't also attracted to the tragedy of his death (everyone loves a good suicide, suicide is sexy), and he'll be young and beautiful and pristine forever. he can be raised an icon. one of the reasons we appreciate him so much is because he's gone. and don't you think that's kind of twisted and funny?

first of all, good web design requires not only nice, eye-catching graphics, but a easy-to-follow layout. your website (with your name being the domain name, i assume? how disgustingly vain) neither looks good, nor does its layout have good flow. by the way both the font and the content itself seem to have been minimized, anyone can see that you're struggling for content.
second, you could've picked a better graphic. your music could do better, too. i took the time to listen to it, at least hoping that i could be proven wrong in calling you an untalented asswipe. when you mentioned your music, i wanted to believe that you actually have some right to go on your pathetic ego trip. but. as it is... i have to say i'm disappointed. experiemental music? please. that's just an excuse for people who can't carry a tune. i hope you're not aspiring to the ranks of, say, kid606.

I don't think he was correct in doing what he did, simply because if he was antagonized like that by what was going on on this community he should have just unsubbed. There was no need to bring that kind of negativity to a community that in general is very thoughtful, intelligent and kind.
Second, he did irritate me with the assumption that because you (and I) happen to be female fans, our objective in liking hide is solely about the consumption of image and has no "serious merit", something him and that fucker Simon Frith (author on rock culture) have in common. I find that more hurtful than any of the rest of what he said or did.
However hun, it bums me out a bit that we need a follow up post on this community degrading him with poor stereotypes the way he degraded us. :( I know he might have gotten under your skin, but hide was not into that sort of negativity, and I don't think it is constructive.
If someone is being anti-social and hurtful to the rest of the community, there is a simple solution: ignore him. Don't feed trolls. If he actually had intention with what he was doing, I think it should be heard out and discussed, but there's no need to degrade people like that, even if they are being hurtful. :/ It gets us nowhere.

Hide's death was accidental, he had plans loads of plans to do with Yoshiki.
the mere fact, Yoshiki was in complete an dutter SHOCK after hide's death says something.
yoshiki even had said in many interviews that when hide was drunk, hide did foolish and very stupid things, things that scare dthe hell out of hide. but hide was an achololic, he got drunk went home.. and while.. achiveing... happy happy land, passed out and hung himself.
yoshiki once stated that when hide got drunk, he did stupid and ba dthings an dgot yoshiki mad, but hwen he was sober, hide would find yoshiki, and apoloigize because he didn;t remeber what he did while he was drunk.

Death is never a thing to be joked about. And any with feelings towards this have the right to morn or whatever. Even if we did not know him, hide was something to many people. Especially those he helped in special ways. He was an artist. And artists are inspirations. Yes, I know horny fan girls are insanely obnoxious. (However, I make a point of just not even mentioning them. Because I really don't want to get mixed up in anything.) That gives you no right to attack hide himself. If you do not like him then that's fine. That's your opinion. But I still don't think such things are right. This is very serious and disrespectful. Besides, why waste your time posting in here if you do not like him any way? Be an adult about this. Just do not post and respect. It's not that hard.
