You know, she sort of has a point. I mean, for all the swarming rantbot cries "I think people don't take their fanfiction seriously are rude" and "behold how jaded I am of your trollery, that I respond in a jaded manner, like the jaded person I am", Kill_The_Kitty's post/troll was at least succint, evocative, and well-stated. It's what, the functional equivalent of two or three sentences? Minimum effort, maximum effect. I give it an 8.7.

While the kitty killer was definitely trolling (and trolling badly, which is even worse) s/h/it kind of had a point. After trying to wade through some of the posts over there, I think that a lot of the members of that comm do need to calm the fuck down.

Personally, I think it's funny that some people (including me, I'll admit) have such high fucking standards when it comes to fanfiction. I mean, people can easily watch bad TV shows, read bad books, pay for terrible movies and know that's just the risk they took by watching. Yet a lot of people seem to feel that they're guaranteed quality fanfic, and get crazy angry when they find something that doesn't meet their standards. You'd think that people would have lower expectations (or at least less pointless rage) in a medium where there's zero quality control, but then again, geeks have never been known to be reasonable.

*glances at text* That made sense, right? Because I just got out of my first final, and all words kind of sound the same to me at this point.

Semicolon is one word and she loses points for that; however blatant misuse of the punctuation mark itself often leads to defenestration.

Why, if she wants to be a troll, is she advertising it so blatantly? One gets a larger reaction from the community one is trolling if one insists they are not, in fact, a troll, and continue to dig in their heels and be trolly.

She could learn from glory_2_god over on LJ. Seriously.

These "protectors of this sacred art" really need to get off of their high horses. Oh no! A misplaced comma! Semi colons are attacking! This character used a contraction, and they never would speak that way! It seems to be the Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and Anime people that have an obsession with their fandoms. I'm sure they are pimple faced losers, whose only pleasure is attacking the mistakes of other writers. It's the only way they can inflate their poor, shrunken, self esteem.

Ah, I see. She must be a Mary-Sue writer who got mocked and is back for revenge. And - fans are obsessed with their fandoms? I never would have guessed.

	Sigh. And I think she may have had a good point too. I do think there are people who take their hobbies way too seriously, and I really don't get the people who bitch and moan about people liking their fic.
