We're fighting over .gifs, people!
This is Neopets, a website about taking care of virtual pets. It is a website primarily frequented by children, though it does have a following among college students. I have a Neopet (it's like Internet crack), but I'm not very involved in the fandom itself. After what happened yesterday, I'm glad.

Apparently, somesneakysim had posted an entry declaring her Neopets gay at the neopetcommunity. The moderator, hate_haze, went to Neopets to if this was appropriate (note: Neopets has nothing to do with the maintenance of the community, but they do allow their images to be used), and Neopets asked her to delete the entry... which is where our story begins.

The community gets deleted, then undeleted; people cry censorship.
The requisite new community (this happens every time there's a kerfluffle on this community)
More whiny, self-righteous opinions [edit: last link was deleted].
The moderator quits... oh, wait, she's back again.

I would link to the most wankeriffic post of them all, which threw around words like "anti-homophobia" and "descrimination"(sic)... but that one's for friends only. *cry*

Edit: I was wrong about somesneakysim being the one who posted the gay Neopets entry. I was going by what was said in the friends-only post. It doesn't make her any less wanky, though.
