I can understand why one would wish their significant others to smoke, but this? Why can't they just enshrine some non-smoker instead of campaigning to convert a smoking actor to suit their ideas?

And why is no one concerned about poor Frodo and company, by the way? Now I'm tempted to found a community for a new, pipeweed-free edition of Lotr, only I am scared to find out that such a community does already exist.

Ya know, I hate that Dom smokes as much as I hate that my Mum smokes...well actually I worry more about my Mum, because I'm scarily sane like that, her being someone I love and who is more important in my life (and well, is actually in my life).

But they are adults, they know the drill and believe you me, no matter how much you nag about it, it's not going to change anything, God knows I've been trying since I was 5. You can't force people to do anything, even if it's for their own good.

My favorite actor smokes -- to the point of saying he's glad he lives in NY and not LA anymore because people in California are too much with the healthy -- and it bugs me, but you know it's not like I have to deal with it first hand. I guess I'd have a right to say something if he dropped his absolutely gorgeous, talented wife and wanted to get involved with a short chubby pron writer with violet hair but I'm thinking me being a dyke might be a bigger stumbling block.

My father died of lung cancer. He smoked for 50+ years. I spent my childhood asking him to stop, but it didn't matter. He was an adult, and he would do what he wanted to do, whether it was bad for him or not, no matter how much he loved me and my brother and my mother.

Can someone explain to me why Elijah Wood is suddenly going to see the light when a bunch of fans start begging him to stop?
