Diana Hignutt
Remember Diana Hignutt? If you don't, she was wanked quite awhile ago for being upset at a bad review on Amazon. Then, it became Publish America wank(always a fun wank). I'd fish for the links, but I'm too lazy to look.

Well, just today, I saw her on Montel Williams. It said that she was the author of "Empress of the Clouds" (got some advertising there). Basically, it was all about her life before getting her sex change and how she was unhappy about being a man. Her wife wasn't too pleased at first, but stayed with her, and they're still together. I know that's not really wanky, but I posted it here since some of you might have seen it too and remember her.

You know, I thought that Diana looks better now than she did as a man. Heh.

I think I remember reading that wank in the archives a while back. Wasn't Publish America the company that charged the authors for publishing their books (no matter how shitty a writer said author was)?

Yup. That's the one. But, they never charged upfront. Oh no, they just took a bigger chunk out of the author's paycheck than a legit publishing house.

I only saw the commercial, but I have to applaud the wife for sticking with that marriage. To support a spouse through something so radical really goes above and beyond. With people getting divorced all over the place because they don't like the same brand of soda, its nice to see such extraordinary commitment.

I've broken up with a boyfriend over a soda snafu, but I couldn't imagine doing that if I were married to the person.

Please tell me you've never heard of a divorce over soda.

I agree. Of course, it does raise some interesting questions--if the marriage now basically consists of two women, is it still legal? And if it is, why can't other people already of the same sex marry? *shrug*

I heard that some states don't legally recognize sex changes.

No state can invalidate a marriage that was completely legal and entered into in good faith at the time the marriage took place, unless a spouse petitions for divorce or annulment. However, many states refused to change the birth certificate of a transexual to reflect their new status unless they divorce first. Many transexual people are still married to their spouses. It's hard sometimes but it can work.

I'm trying to remember if Jennifer Finney Boylan remained married to her wife, whom she married years before when she was still James. I'd recently read She's Not There and I'm drawing a blank. Today has been Draw A Blank Day for me.

Oh, if you want some real Diana Hignutt related PA wank, check here.

Several PA big-name authors have headed off to start up their own small publisher - Diana's new book is being published under that banner - and the PA response included banning several people from their offical boards.

Of special interest on that thread is the spooge from PA's local attack dog, HBMarcus:

WE WERE DUPED PEOPLE!
She played two games at the same time. She would spew praises for PA; YO HO HO and all. But if you got close, you caught her real deal. While she was stashing bucks for 'her troubles' with the lending library, which she had no right to do by the way, she was costing all of you sales with her social butterfly LOUD opinions.

and the brilliant:

I don't want people all pissed off at me over this since Lynn tried to make so many friends to solidify her stance. But hey, Hitler did the same thing, huh? Hide in plain sight was it?
