Did I? Nope.

I waited to see if either the mods themselves, or anyone commenting, felt there was sufficient impropriety in the post to raise it as a violation of the purpose of F-W. Or whether, maybe, the fact that the sockpuppet posting it was ostensibly doing so in support of a well-known and regular poster on this community.

When nothing happened, I figured that I knew all I needed to know about the kind of guidelines this community *really* feels itself to be bound to.

So, the post itself is gone now. Someone thought better of it. A mod? The sockpuppet? Who knows? Both mods and sockpuppet, and the rest of you, were happy enough letting it all hang out at the time. I know this community for what you are. I think others should at least be aware that you can't and won't practise what you preach.

You know, I don't remember the wank, but I know that people have done this in the past. Obviously not with your issue, but with others. It *is* one of the problems with self-modding - there's nobody watching for guideline violations at all times.

If more needed to be explained I certainly wouldn't have known that until it was thusly explained. So [if I'm reading you correctly which is always doubtful] someone had a personal beef with you and posted a wank about you somewhere here and you didn't like it but didn't say anything about it yet stood around waiting for someone to come rescue you from the said poster.....

This may be news to you, but moderators act on COMPLAINTS RECEIVED. They do not answer to the silent stone statue approach. Making a complaint to moderators about community treatment metered out to individuals ANYWHERE is not wanky. Handing out 'damning indictments' after the fact when, by your own admission, you sat there with your gob shut; having your pride dented with the sensation of your overall unimportance smacking you in the face like a wet halibut...
