Ragnarok Online Wank
Random lurker here. I came across a funny little spat on the iRO fanart board that I thought needed mocking sharing.

First off, a guy named Seth Malloy posts a very well done and sexy fanart of a huntress. People enjoy the eyecandy until someone points out that the image is not his. It's a Japanese doujinshi cover. A hentai dj at that. Go figure.

Then much wank ensues.

Dear Seth decides to do the predictable thing and reply in all caps, telling his accusers to "stop commenting and get on with their useless and pathetic lives."

Lady Capulet jumps in, raving about sexism and how omg she ish teh smartz.

Then it all sort of dissolves into childish spooge fest. Be sure to bring your moist towelettes folks, you're going to get sticky.

As an endnote, I'm quite amazed they've let this thread stay up for as long as it has. They're usually quite good at taking down posts made by plagiarists if someone can provide a link to the original. Oh well, at least it's amusing. ^_~

[EDIT]: Apparently one stolen artwork isn't enough for him. Encore anyone?

I played it on an Apple 2e back in the olden days. But you can get a version to play on your current computer here (7th down).

Now I'm tempted to break out the VIC-20 and play Hunt the Wumpus.

It's been a long time, but if I remember correctly you show the bird the painting of the russian premier/american president (it changes every time you play it) and that confuses it/the lady enough so that you can get the letter. Or something. Oh, and the extra room in her house that you can't get into serves no purpose whatsoever, so don't bother. (I haven't had a chance to play it lately, but I did win the game way back when. I'll let you know if I ever have enough free time to get that far again!)

That was...yeah. That pretty much confirmed I'll never play RO.

I loved how the comments got more and more inane as time went on. But, truly, this is the best part. After wading through all that crap, there's this in bright red text:

"Please be aware that ill-mannered activities (use of profane language, impersonating, spamming, slander, etc) as well as posts dealing with buying/selling/trading accounts or money is not allowed and will be dealt with accordingly."

It's generally not that bad when you're actually playing the game. I don't play nearly as much as I used to due of the fact that it's extremely addictive, but all that aside, you're going to find asshats anywhere you go.

And yeah, I don't think they actually MEAN what they say with that disclaimer. It just looks all pretty and red at the bottom of the page. >.>

Okay I'm just replying because I'm the "Nyami" girl on the iRO fanart BBS. I never really thought the whole thing would turn into Drama. >>; I just wanted the guy to give credits to the rightful artist because um yea, being an artist and all I know it sucks to get your artwork stolen (happened to me a couple of times).

It's just funny how it all turned out. I love the part where he tells me he didn't really draw it. I had so much fun replying to that (Sue me. I'm easily amused).

But whatever, the point is that I didn't start the whole debate for the fun of flaming. @__o; I just wanted to guy to give credit to the rightful artist. I never thought so many morons would jump in for the fun of spamming. XD;

Just so you know just because it says "USA RO" on the main page doesn't mean all of us are Americans (It used to be "International RO"). English is NOT my native language so sorry for um... offending you? At least some of us are trying.

Did I name you specifically? No? Then it might not apply to you. In fact, from what little I've seen of your writing, your English is very good. I would never have guessed that you're not a native speaker. I know quite a few ESL folks both online and off. I used to work at an office that, among other things, helped immigrants pass ESL exams. I've seen, heard, and decoded broken English ... and I've never seen someone learning English as a second language put it through some of the tortures evident in that thread. My loathing is purely for my countrymen.

Oh no, I never thought it was aimed directly at ME but since I'm part of that thread (Sadly. Maybe I should stop bothering with those art thieves) I just wanted to point out that -I- wasn't a native English speaker.

I can understand your frustation. It makes me sad that I can somewhat write it better than them and I have yet to take a single English class. I mean, common it's not THAT hard. Then again most people in MMORPGs are um ... childish, I guess. They're not willing to make the effort.
