The "my dad can beat up your dad" reply wasn't useless. It's more a reference to one of the question/answer sessions at nin.com.

And we were generally nice to that person. We just pointed out a few things :) Though, I'm still not sure if it wasn't rather a bad attempt at trolling, especially since it is well known that there are quite a few fans of both, Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson, in the community. But it was still fun!

Then again, as far as wank goes, that one wasn't much. There was that nice 'hate' thread at echoingthesound.org and, not to forget, all the lovely NIN vs. MM threads there and various other boards. These are first class wanks, complete with trolls, name calling and everything you can imagine. This one was very boring compared to that, but the LJ communities are either very peaceful to start with or dead anyway, so...
