Musical wank, hooray!
So. Melanie B of Spice Girls fame has joined the Broadway cast of the show RENT.
A Mel B fan who'd already made a name for himself in the community was very happy she won a broadway.com Tony and couldn't resist sharing with the community.

He was told to "grow up" and that the Spice Girls are crap.

OMG the drama continues. Now he's a baby and a pussy!

Of course, he had to have his say. This time with comments enabled.
Which brings us to the ultimate post. This one apparently will be deleted in 24 hours. Includes name-calling and pleas to make love, not war.

Gee.

I wish he'd stop by compulsivebowlers.com sometime...

*gets out claw trap*

And I love how invariably, in any somewhat significantly wanky Rent flame war, someone has to say, "Would Jonathan want this?!" or a million variations on it...

Yes, because RENT was obviously Jonathan Larson's evil master plan to take over the human race with messages of peace and love, and then enslave us all when we weren't looking. *g* Or something.

Great. Now I imagine the horrified look on the brit moms face when the midwife said: "You have to be very strong now. Your child is...it is...an...american."

I'll bet it's like that "I know because my best friend is gay", or "I know because my mom is 100% Irish" type of phenomenon. They're able to speak for the entire X-nation because they happen to know someone in said nation. Asinine, meet argument; argument, asinine.

*rolls eyes*

There has to be some prior history with this guy. Otherwise, it's just 5 or 6 people complaining he didn't allow commenting, and they wanted to tell him properly his music sucked.

Did some digging (scroll down on the first link). He's not a Rent fan. He's a Spicegirls fan who happens to adore the new "What Were They Thinking Casting Her?" cast member, and doesn't really give much of a damned about the thematic value of the moo-cow song.

So it's a guy who previously annoyed them who wanted to tell him properly his music sucked. Ooookay.

My brain hurts.

SpiceBoy: People like to use the word "immature" a lot around here don't they?

Somehow I wouldn't be utterly surprised if it is just a word they like to use a lot around him. With all his editing or deleting posts and disallowing comments and best of all his explanation that he does so because Livejournal apparently wants him to.

Heh. Immature little wanker.

[About this comment made re: Spiceboy]
just out of curiousity, do you use british spellings because of your spice girls obsession? your user info says you're from westchester.

I hereby apologize on behalf of all people in Westchester County for the existence of "spiceboy".

Thank you.

To finish you off I must note than when i see people who don't know what they are talking about in a community I go to their journal and see what they write in there. "I'd like to thank all the little, unimportant people that made Melanie B(rown) Broadway's Best Replacement Female in the Tony Awards." is what you said and anyone can go read it. That is so childish and untrue. I'm sure everyone will agree with me.

Somehow, that's more childish than being sparkly-happy over Mel B. winning a broadway.com Tony.

Wow, I can't tell who's being wankier here. Spiceboy or the "OMG Spiceboy is SOOOOO LAAAAME" people.

Oh, I LOVE Rent-Wank. "I'm going to kill you because we have different opinions over a show that values friendship and community!"

I'd heard one of the guys from 98 Degrees was joining the cast as Roger and that Jai Hernandez was coming back to play Angel (which is cool because I saw him the last time he was with the show and he's an amazing Angel), but Mel B.? She was... uh... the scary one, right? Wow, guess they are getting desperate for cast members.
