Pietro: Keep Ron up! [Comment #7]

Joey Furgiuele: can't have 1 without 3 [Comment #193]

Viu: Do the screenwriters and the directors really read the novels? I highly doubt it. Ron's character is extremely twisted. Being a reader, I'm disapponinted.

Andy Duston: boys can be close too! [Comment #309]

And, here are wankprophet's words of wisdom (*sporfle*):

This is just an attempt by Hollywood to phase Ron completely out of the movies and replace him with a metrosexual hobbit. Admit it!!!!!eleventy-one111!! [Comment#334]

Oh...I had forgotten about that. Well, I stand by my assertion and will curse at anyone who disagrees. Cause, as the comments seem to imply, Ron has been kidnapped by an international cartel of Ev0l Movie-Makers. Wonder what the ransom will be.

(BTW, I had to search for the comment (#334) because the link doesn't work quite right...apparently you're not allowed to direct link to the specific page with a "cgi?" suffix.)

I seem to remember hearing about some fans petitioning JK Rowling about bringing *insert dead character's name from book five here* back to life... Anyone know anything about that?

I swear these online petition things can be like insta-wank, though. It's GREAT.

Please forgive me for being bitchy, but there might be a problem with that whole shooting Hermione thing, as she does not have control over what lines she has, being a fictional character and all.

FWIW, I would have liked to see Ron keep his line (but I haven't seen the movie yet (two more hours!) so it might make more sense in context) but it's not the end of the world, yo.

Yes dear, he shot the movie. That's why he's the director, it's what they do and why he deserves to shoot things.

What the characters said come from the script. It's from the sceenwriter. It's from Kloves. Not Cuaron (the director).

Kloves is a suethor, and I really fear how will be Hermione and Cho in GOF. But the director has nothing to do with the lines.

Obviously no one knows that Ron stole that line from me. Yes, I said to that to JK and Elijah Wood while sipping tea and discussing our secret LJ's. BUT THAT BITCH STOLE IT AND I'M NOT TALKING TO HER EVER AGAIN. I SHALL ARRANGE A PETITION TO HAVE HER TURN OVER HER MONEY AND HER SEXY BODY TO ME.

...I think I need to go to sleep.

Never mind that everything about the movie was Rowling approved...

J.K. Rowling does not get the last say! It's the fen who do! And they say, "Wank! Wank, wank!"

People, please. For all we know, the powers that be might be trying to hit a balance as the series goes on.

Yes, I predict that the fourth movie will not only be 5 hours long, but Ron Weasley will be taking over Hermione's whirlwind love affair with Viktor Krum.

Yes, it all makes sense now! Ron is certainly a helluva lot more compatible with Victor than Hermione is. I can see them together now, breaking out the Broomstick Servicing Kit for a romantic evening of polishing each other's handles...

Comment #687: Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger in PS were the most faithful to canon. Why did everything suddenly go downhill in CoS? I'll tell you why. Because all of us fans liked Ron better than Harry and the scriptwriter seems to be completely in love with Little Miss 'I am perfect and can do no wrong' Granger. I mean, wtf?! All I can say is die, Hermione Sue, die! Oh, and for good measure, die, Cowardly Imposter!Ron, die! Honestly, how HARD is it to get two of the main effing characters RIGHT? Grow up, Steve Kloves. And while you're at it, take your head out of your ass and read the damn books!

Sometimes I feel like I'm one of like THREE people on the planet who doesn't worship at the feet of St. Ronald, patron saint of the Brave and Loyal, while spitting upon that bitch, Hermione Sue!!!11!!! Here's a shameful confession: Book!Ron often makes me laugh (gasp!) because he acts like a goofy teenage boy a lot of the time...but according to her, I guess that means I'm not actually an HP fan. Also, it doesn't deeply offend me to the very core of my being that Hermione is always the smart and helpful one in the movies while Ron is the comic relief. It doesn't equal character assassination to me, it just seems like cinematic interpretation. For some wacky reason, I see these two characters as both having strengths and weaknesses...perhaps I suffer from the Kloves Madness?

Comment #674: I am a great fan of Rowling's Harry Potter and have just returned from a free screening of "Prisoner of Azkaban". In my opinion, the single worst thing about the film was the removal of Ron Weasley's defining moment of loyalty and bravery. It is thanks to the faithless characterisations of Ron and (to a lesser extent) Hermione that I will not pay to see this film, nor buy the DVD nor recommend either to family, friends or online acquaintances.

Golly gee, are people making a big, fat, fucking hairy deal out of this. Doesn't Ron prove his loyalty and bravery in EVERY frickin book by simply continuing to hang out with Harry and go off on life-threatening romps with him? PoA has more of Hermione acting up and being brave than in the first two books. Ron is brave in it too, but that one line he says in the book is not the "defining moment" of his anything. He gets mauled by a dog and gets very pissy about his rat. That's about all he does in PoA. Can we all please deal with these facts and move on?

Yeah! We should just move on to Goblet of Fire, where he gets mauled by frilly dress robes and gets very pissy about being poor.

Dude, i'm with you. What's with all the Hermione hate? I'm guessing none of them are Ron/Hermione shippers. I don't get the Ron worship at all. I mean it's fine to like a character, but to get so rabid you feel you have to defend his fictional honor is just..a little much.

No.

I'm with you there.

Honestly, movie!Ron actually made me like him. Book!Ron reminds me too much of an ex-friend of mine for comfort, so having him made into more of a "sidekick figure" or whatever people are claiming is only a good thing to me.

Can I join the club, too?
