Except that I'm 110 pounds, 22 years old and currently live with three other young, attractive and damn talented female fanficcers, all of who have at least dabbled in Harry Potter and aren't blood relatives, let alone my parents. So mostly I'm just going to laugh real hard, I think.

Ral defines slash as Same sex erotic fanfic, so named because of the convention of putting a slash mark between the names of the pairing in the story header, aka "Draco/Harry".

I'm just annoyed that some idiot gave an incorrect definition of slash. Slash is not always erotic. Although it's best when it it. *smirks*

Trekkers, LOTR'ers, Jedi's, Harry Potheads, Furries.

Who would win in a fight.

The Trekkers would try to come to a peaceful solution satisfying all parties and, failing that, invade with a huge armada of minivans. Because most Trekkers I've met are middle-aged moms.

LOTR'ers would sit around for a while and squeal. Eventually someone would suggest maybe calling Legolas or something and they'd all squeal some more. Maybe eventually one of them would make an idle threat involving legal action or hacking, but really, who can tell with them?

Jedi would lurk about in comicbook and action figure shops, where they reign supreme. Maybe they'd play some D&D or complain (justifiably) about how the last good Star Wars film was made in the 80s.

The Potter fen would make websites dedicated to their noble struggle against the infidels, but all of the sites would end up being taken over by their fanfic and fanart sections. Eventually they'd forget what they were going for when the site moderators turned on the readers and writers and artists and it'd all show up on fandom_wank.

And the furries would have sex. Maybe a wolfboy or two would get distracted long enough to gnaw half-heartedly on some Jedi leg or something, but, well, really. Why fight when you can have sex? And if there's one thing all furries have in common, it's that they like to have sex with other furries.

Wow! That explains why I have difficulty finishing my fanfics; all I have to do is wait until I'm forty and be three times my current weight!

That said, this is like every other 'those wacky fanfic authors!' article I've ever seen complete with prerequisite furry bashing and innacurate fanfic definitions (PEOPLE! SLASH DOES NOT ALWAYS EQUAL RAMPANT BUTTSEX!), but the reaction ought to be interesting.

I avoid Harry Potter fanfiction for the most part. There's way too much smut, and some of it is freaky-- apparently there's one where Snape does funny things with a niffler. But I read a great one by a fanfic author called Cassandra Claire.
