Just to Prove We're Not Completely Biased....
Here's some quality Anti-het wank. Specifically a clique dedicated to (what else?) hating het. And of course, like anything vehemently anti-, it's chock full of wanky goodness.

All for Deviant_Love. See? We mock all wankers no matter what their porn preferences!

The highlights from the About page:

Okay, first of all, before I get killed, I am not against heterosexual fan work! This entire site is supposed to be an ironic statement about the idiocy of anti-slash.

Translation: "I'm going to bash hetsex because two meeeeeeeen websites pissed me off, but I don't actually hate it. I'm just doing this to stick it to anti-slashers and get them pissed off. Duzn't tht make m3 sooooo klevah!!??"

But there are tonnes of people who hate its opposite, slash, which is the same but homosexual. And this site is just to ridicule it. People can hate male/male or female/female fan work, so I can hate male/female, right? Damn right. Again, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with het fan fiction/art. I will even admit to reading or looking at it now and then when I'm bored...

Translation: "I can bash het that I don't actually hate because everyone else hates slash! And you can't say anything because my open mind pwns you!"

A highlight from the Why Do You Hate Het? page:

"I used to be one of those kiddies who LOATHED slash. Something about it intimidated me. But, one day, one awesome day, I read it and have been in love with it since that day. Now it's kind of vice-versa; het makes me squirmish. The writers tend to Mary Sue and fluff and the fics tend to suck. Slash is the opposite, you know? And slash has more of an appeal to me. Reading about guys having sex seems more intimate, more true, even though it's fictional"

Because, as we all know, there is no crap yaoi fic out there, all hetfic sucks, and gay love is so much purer than ickystraight het love.

I also find it terribly ironic that the title page lists "an open mind" as one of the requirements. For a hate clicque.

Stop being a slash fan. You're making slash fans look stupid.

ETA:Problem solved. You can all go home now. As a parody of over-zealous slashers, this is extremely funny.

Irony dies in agony in the presence of disclaimers.

....

Because there are no fluffy Gary-stus out there. They do not exist. All of that is simply a portrayal of true love in all of its facets, including the ultra-sappy bits where fireworks blast in the background, fairies and leprechauns dance about the bed singing love songs; and by golly, all it took was a wink and a smile to get the whole relationship started in the first place. No, not in slashland.

*shakes head*

It's amusing in that "wanna bang my head against a wall until it goes away" kind of way.

It could have been funny, if they stopped trying to say "Hey, I like het, I really do!" Either treat it completely seriously, or treat it completely humorously. They got lost when they tried to do both and now it's just sad.

So, shut up and stop making my side look stupid heterophobic!

Their heterophobia is pasted on.

a clique for people sick of all this heterosexual fan work on the internet these days.

No, of course I don't have a pile of yaoi doujinshi sitting on my bookshelf. It's all a figment of my imagination because those damn het fans flood the intarweb with their narrowminded and intolerant fanart of boys and girls making with teh kissyface. How dare they waste perfectly good webspace with their trash?

The writers tend to Mary Sue and fluff and the fics tend to suck. Slash is the opposite, you know?

Because there's no such things as Gary Stus or fluff in slash. Furthermore, there is no such thing as bad slash fanfiction. In fact, if you write/draw/ship slash you're automatically a better/more 1337 author/artist/fan than anyone who writes/draws/ships het.

Jeebus Criminy, het versus slash wank annoys me.

...it also makes me wank, apparently. *breaks out the tissues*

As I'm always saying (to myself, because there's never anyone around to listen), I'm not anti-slash, I'm anti-anti-het. Somehow I don't think the "Ew, het!" attitude is going to help the world become the tolerant and accepting place that these people wish it would be. Personally I'll take my porn in any flavor, gay/straight/bi/whatever, but I know that other people tend to be a bit more discriminating in choosing what fic to read. Still, it would be nice if we could all stop bickering over what kind of pairing is the most "intimate and true" and just agree to be anti-shitfic instead ('cause lord knows shitfic runs rampant in all types of pairings). It would sure conserve a lot of splooge if we did!

Right, because there aren't *any* yaoi fics where two enemies are secretly in love with each other... so secretly that even they themselves don't realize it. And you imagined that fic where a girl with Belldandy-level niceness was given a personality transplant to turn her into a selfish bitch.

You know, honestly, rachelthedemon's post about this isn't all that funny. She seems to have kind of missed the point - despite the site's disclaimer, which is for people like her.

Not that the anti-het click doesn't look stupid for the simple fact that a few people there are inarticulate and because the disclaimer killed teh funny of the site joke.

Or brain science, for that matter.

I am bisexual. I have been in a same-sex monogamous relationship for 16 years. Sixteen years. We consider ourselves married. I am not a homophobe, a fag-basher, or anything of the sort.

I loathe pointless slash. If the characters involved have significant others in canon, or if they are consistently portrayed as het, then I'm not going to be interested. I steer very clear of fics where Harry boffs Draco, or Ranma does Ryouga, or whatever. (My default icon shows my feelings about Ken/Joe slash rather pointedly, I think. Even if Ken were gay--which he's not--Joe is HetMan™.)

I also detest the mangling of canon same-sex pairings. The SOS people who spent years denying that Haruka and Michiru were a couple really pissed me off. (They denied it in spite of everyone, including the creator of Sailor Moon, telling anyone who would listen that yes, Haruka and Michiru are boinking, get over it.) And don't even get me started over the people who insisted that Zoicite was a woman.

I'm not going to tell people that they can't read, write, or enjoy slash. That's not my place. Hey, whatever rolls your socks down, kiddies. But if somebody gets all pissy with me because I won't read their OMGWTFSOKEWL story where Kenshin gets jiggy with Sano, that's their problem.

...Damn, now I need a cigarette.

What always gets me in these debates are the straight fangirls that are squicked by het. I'm straight and I happen to read more yaoi than het (boys are pretty XD), and I'm not saying that everyone should only read from their own preference (how boring!), but isn't it a little unhealthy to look at the portrayal of your own sexuality and go, "EWWW!"?

Of course, most fanfic in general isn't exactly "portrayal," but...oops, lost whatever point I was trying to make. Hand me a tissue...

Urgh...no, no, no! Just, NO! Het does not equal mary-sue. Nor does mary-sue equal het. I've seen gay and lesbian mary-sues before. Trent x Iris is a het pairing. No fluff, no suckingness, and no mary-sues. And what is wrong with fluff? Fluff doesn't make a fan fiction bad! Edriss 562 x Essam 293 is very fluffy-sweet at times and it neither sucks nor is mary-sued.

At the same time, there are plenty of fluffy slash out there. Which can be find, but Kaiba x Jounouchi is not a fluffy pairing, but most of the fan fictions about them are OOC, stereotyped, badly written fluff. Other yaoi fan fictions turn one of the characters into a mary-sue. And are you going to tell me that if I write Touma x Mika smutt, it isn't intimate? What about Bink x Chameleon? Are they not intimate? How is Eslin 359 x Derane 344 any less true than Mertil-Iscar-Elmand x Gafinilan-Estrif-Valad?

Oh yeah, and like, is there any het fiction left? Maybe I'm in all the wrong places but I hardly see any anymore. Makes me think of being complimented on a Fight Club slash for my bravery at including the Tyler/Marla, Narrator/Marla relationship.

Trust me, you're not the only one who thought it was funny!
