Old wank, different fandom: "Liek, I'm sick of teh nu fangirlz! I'm so much betta!!1!!"
It's just a page (and a half) of wank, but it's all coming from a single person! I've checked the memories, but nothing of this kind has come up.

I wish I could know more about F_W's demographics, so that I don't feel like an idiot explaining Jimmy Fallon to what I suppose is a community with a big American contingent. Anyway, for those who don't know him, let's say rapidly that the guy is a comedian who started his TV career in 1998 on "Saturday Night Live", and has been a permanent member of the show until a week ago. He's also briefly appeared in a few movies and done a few other things here and there.

But his big break into the teenage world came when he made a Matrix parody on the 2000 MTV Movie Awards, and then hosted the same show the following year. Millions of girls realized all of a sudden the sexiness and charisma and humor of Teh Jimmeh... and of course SPOILED THE WHOLE FANDOM DAMMIT! for a girl, who then felt compelled to make this web page with the sole purpose of telling off "teh nu fangirlz who weren't ther from teh beginning and go for Jimmeh only for his looks, and don't deserve to meet him before me OMGBBQ!!1!2!"

...obviously forgetting in the process that she sounds exactly like one of them and that there was only TWO years between his debut in SNL and his MTV appearance, so the whole "I'VE BEEN THERE SINCE THE BEGINNING" is a bit... overrated, to say the least.

Oh, and she's got a "guest book" that includes questions like "Are you a teeny booper?" and "When did you first notice Jimmy?". Don't be afraid to answer sincerely, she's here just for the Jimmy love. If only the Message board was working, the wank would be enormous...

I don't know how old this is because, as she says:
"This Site Will Never Be Updated...
THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT...I CREATED THIS PAGE, SOLELY, FOR THE GOOD OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE."

I thought only books turned into movies (*ahem*) had this kind of old fans/new fans clash (apart from the Manics fandom of course), but this goes to prove that no fandom is safe...

Or maybe it doesn't even qualify as a fandom, but seeing how the girl is so full of her "xclusive fan" status, I think it does. I mean, just replace "Jimmy Fallon" with "Dominic Monaghan" and "MTV Movie awards" with "the Lord of the Rings movies", and suddenly it starts sounding somehow familiar...

God help us, NO! I think. *g* As I said, I'm a newcomer in this. I've seen it's hard enough already to pair Jimmy up with a woman (gossip-wise, of course). To start thinking he's Teh Opressed Gay and pinpoint a precise co-star he'd be in love with would be even more difficult. Wait, for the tinhats, one thing is sign of the other, isn't it?

But you don't need to be a tinhat to get all snobbery about the fangirls while being one yourself, do you? I put Dom's example because I guess he was much less known (or not known at all) before LotR. With Elijah, well, I think there's much more people who could claim having seen one of his movies before LotR, and he's been around much longer, so the rift in the fandom between old and new fans that an Elijah snobbish fangirl could point out wouldn't be as obvious. I was just trying to point out the stupidity of claiming you're "a true fan" because you got into Jimmy a year before the fangirls.

Here I am, theorizing about a wank. Heh. Tell me if it doesn't make sense.

Have you seen the "live" version? Some people actually took the time to dress up as lions and zebras and film the whole thing again. It's just... so damn funny!

Since I haven't watched SNL since, oh, 1985 or so (when it was funny), I had no opinion about Jimmy Fallon until I saw his opening act for Weird Al Yankovic.

During his act, he earned my respect by proving that all songs from the 1980's can be sung to the tune of "Can't Touch This" by MC Hammer.

The last part is the most disturbing bit. For God sakes-- it's Jimmy Fallon. The crack-head comedian who hasn't gone through a single sketch sketch on SNL for years without breaking up in laughter and ruining everything. The ugly butt-monkey whose decided to leave his main claim to fame (being on SNL) in the misguided hope that he'd actually be able to find a lucrative career somewhere else. The weirdo tv-presenter whose face resembles the front of a sopping-wet sock. Jimmy Fallon, damn it.

I know teenage girls are suspetible to womanish celebrity men but... for god sakes, it's Jimmy Fallon. How can anyone seriously be obsessed with him?

Hehe, I had to mention the Manics here. That's the wankiest fandom that ever wanked. I mean, forget the fandom, the Manics themselves were even more wanky than their fans. You don't find many bands which bassist says he's a "self-proclaimed wanker". And I say that with all the love of my heart, they were my first fandom as well, although I'm not an old fan.

If only F_W had been around '94-'95, Manics Wank would have been such a thing of beauty to watch and post about. Crystalwank would have paled in comparison with Richeywank#324, MichaelStipewank, etc...

I liked Jimmy Fallon on SNL, but lately, he's been grating on me. It's good he's left the show. He and Horatio Sanz cracking up in every skit together, (though I'm surprised they kept themselves composed during the Cork Soakers skit). For a while, there was a girl on imdb.com crying and wanking about Jimmy Fallon leaving SNL. Stuff like, "Why did he leave SNL? Was he forced to? It's not fair! He should stay on forEVAR!1!!eleventyone!!1!!11" Never mind that Jimmy was one of Lorne Michaels' favorites (akin to Adam Sandler) so Lorne never would have forcibly put him off the show, and all the castmembers eventually leave anyway. It's the circle of SNL life.

Oh, I know a lot about Jimmy Fallon leaving SNL, does that make me a true fan of SNLJimmy Fallon?
