set phasers for--oh, nevermind. I can't bring myself to say it
In [info]ds9agogo, there was a post. It was deleted and the moderator, [info]skywaterblue announced it over here.

The original post by [info]evilneps is actually here.

I'm too tired to write up a proper summary. In any case, the post seemed to have been deleted on a basis of it using gay as a derogatory term.

And uh, for explanations: Ds9agogo is a community about the show Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, which takes place on a space station and Sisko is the captain that is bald like Picard but not a dirty frenchie with a british accent. That is all.

But this is LiveJournal we're talking about here. Who cares about anything that's posted to or otherwise made available on LiveJournal?

Good point. Don't let the door hit your ass!

The site I'm getting these from allows deep linking, FOR NOW. O_O

No, it doesn't.

The captions are lame; the bandwidth theft is asstastic. What a tool.

Captain Sisko, however, does kick ass.

Just sayin'.

Mmmmm. Avery Brooks. I remember the shock of seeing Hawk in a Starfleet uniform... I also remember that early on, you could always tell when a new Spencer movie was filming because he'd grow facial hair again

The best part: it apparently got deleted for using "gay" as a derogatory term... by a mod who cheerfully calls everyone and everything she objects to "retarded".

Yeah, but I wasn't taking the matter seriously anyhow. I mean, anyone who posts, "You suck and that is sad," and then invites flaming isn't exactly doing it for the purposes of being a responsable adult. ;)

I once had a post in a forum deleted because I wrote I disliked CLAMP's work because it was always so gay.

Funny thing is, I meant gay=homosexual.

Disclaimer: I am as big a fan of teh ghei as the next person, but it grates on my nerves when it's only there to attract a female audience and the plot otherwise has no point whatsoever.

Seriously-- vaginal centipedes are the new black. Anyone who still thinks having anal worms is hawt is so not in the know.

In our defence, his post was worded along the lines of "here is my amazing post, not that any of you DESERVE it!!eleven!!" which would probably bring about deletion anyway just to stop clutter. Plus we've had long and boring flamewars about The Gay before, and so we've become a bit zero tolerance on the whole issue since then. Also we were pretty sure leaving it there would offend more of the membership than deletion would.

Plus, we were bored!

Admit it-- that's the real reason. Everything else was just window-dressing to you.

And there was a smartass Cardassian spy/tailor/spy. Can't forget the Cardassian. I miss that show so much.

Bwaha! I got kicked out of class in seventh grade after the episode in which she kissed the other female trill. Some uberChristian kid started harassing me about how Star Trek was such a gay show and I tried to beat him up. I'm glad that kid never got a look into my mind about the slashy subtext I saw everywhere. On second thought, I wish he had. It would have scarred him for life and I would feel VINDICATED!!

Garak was 85% of the reason I watched that show. Garak and Bashir was also my very first OTP at the tender age of 13 non the less.

My friend a few weeks back actually brought up DS9 with me and she happily refered to Garak as "The Doctors Cardassian Boyfriend."

Garak rocked hardcore. He could kill you and make you a new coat all at once.

Just joining on the Julian Bashir love... It's the only character my mum remembers from that show, and she didn't use to watch it that much. I guess she passed by when my father and I were watching it and thought: "Mmmm, pretty!!" Now she tries to tell me she remembers him because he was such a nice character, but I know the truth...

That OP was great. If you pretend that you're listening to Rudy Ray Moore speak the text, it's downright awesome. (Sorry, watched Avenging Disco Godfather last night...)
