Nickelback, please learn some new songs. Kthxbi
It looks like someone with a lot of time on their hands has figured out that the band Nickelback keeps recording the same song over and over again [WARNING: Um, well, links to horrible Nickelback songs being played. Not Ear Safe?]:

Nickelback, you lazy, talentless bunch of wankers. What, did you think nobody would notice that you're recycling your hideous dirge and selling it all over again to your deluded fan base? You bastards, you're taking advantage of those tone deaf MTV brainwashed twats who are too thick to notice you're releasing songs that are EXACTLY THE SAME as ones you recorded earlier. And here's the proof, people. Listen to their first godawful hit, played through the left speaker. At the same time, an equally shite single (released two years later) will be played through the right speaker. Can you spot the difference?

The wank splooges forth here

Nickelback vs. AC/DC? You gotta be kidding me. Bon Scott alone could kick Nickelback's ass and he's DEAD.

I've only heard one Nickelback song and on the occasional mp3 play, I've enjoyed it. So I'm far from an expert.

But AC/DC would still kick their arse, no question.

Someone I know took mp3s of "How You Remind Me" and "Someday," and overlayed them on top of one another.

They really are fucking identical, note-for-note with different words.

You mean some bands not only keep the style that they specialize in, but... but... but also use on each album the SAME SONG FORMULA THAT MADE THEM FAMOUS OVER AND OVER AGAIN?!

NOOOOO! Where's my innocence? I want it back... My world has been shattered... Oh, well, I guess I'll go back to listening to some Linkin' Park...

I actually got confused as to which song was which. I suppose we'll get the band on VH1's Best Week Ever soon trying to explain that those songs aren't the same, a la Vanilla Ice.

Did you guys know the lead singer of Nickelback just got a bajillion-dollar endorsement deal with McDonald's for their new mp3 service, so that kids won't develop the "bad habit" of downloading free mp3s? No wonder no one wants their albums when that's the shit they're producing.

You know what's really scary?

Anyone here actually heard of Theory of a Deadman? For your own sake, I really hope not - a friend and I were forced to see them live when they opened for the Headstones. Now, I can't say anything about the album (as I now run from anything having to do with them at very high speeds), but we were able to input Nickelback songs into about 90% of what they played.

And they're on Chad Kroeger's record label.

NICKELBACK ARE SPAWNING! *sobs hysterically*

Bands worse than Nickelback:
Hoobastank
The Darkness
O Town

Okay, Hoobastank are annoying, but I wouldn't call them worse than Nickelback. And I don't know who O Town are. But the Darkness? Worse than Nickelback? God forgive them for actually having a sense of humor.

I think it's a bad sign for your band when the people defending it are completely illiterate. Check out this defense of netspeak from one of the Nickelback defenders:

Actually no...and i am talking in txt wirite...most ppl do that no a days but seems as how u av your hed stuk in the past...you udnt have a clue what that is:)

That's hilarious, although heavily edited as LoopyChew (*waves*) mentioned. The key for HYRM is a whole step lower than the other song, but their chord structure is so similar that I can rarely tell them apart right away on the radio.

Still... that lead singer guy, who is a major asshole [insert Spaceballs joke here] by all reports, can really, really sing.
