Thunder-Wank is go!
The "Thunderbirds" movie's not even out yet, but S.I.G. for wank:

From movie-source.com

Kim: Damn you, filthy americans! Especially Jonathan Frakes! How dare you make a movie directed at kids based on a show that was directed at kids?!

Zarius: "the veichles look like giant condoms"

Michael: I want marionettes with strings you can see from a mile away, not real people!

On IMDB:

j-kyffin: What no bad language, well you know I feel sorry that everything these days has to contain foul abusive language, gay or lesbian scenes and you know there are now a growing number of people who are absolutely sick of it,like the endless popups, and spam I get.

burrobaggy: Yeah, it is the kind of trailer that makes you want to see a four-hour subtitled Turkish film about goatherding instead. I hate to say it, but even Catwoman doesn't look this bad, and that's going some.

[ED: This is the sound of the lonely goatherd. Lay-ee Yo-de-lay-ee Yo-de-lay-ee-HOOO! Damn you, burrobaggy!!!]

I had no idea what movie you were talking about, and for a minute there I thought there was a Thundercats film coming out.

*is ashamed*

Dude. As long as it's not liveaction. I'd go to the TC movie whenever, wherever, but I don't much fancy trying to scrub furry cum off my coat.

Ah, Thunderbirds, my childhood.

The only thing that bothered me about the movie trailer was a noticeable lack of Lady Penelope. But I'm sure she's in the movie somewhere. Right?

I believe so, but I think people were wanking about the choice of actress there as well.

Just wait for the HR Pufnstuf movie, starring Owen Wilson as HR Pufnstuf, Daniel Radcliffe as Jimmy, Judy Tenuta as Witchiepoo, and featuring Jackie Chan as some guy who does martial arts for no reason.

Captain Scarlet! .. oh, god, now the theme song's in my head.

The only problem with the idea of a Captain Scarlet movie is that it would inevitably produce reams and reams (npi) of bad Scarlet/Black slash, and then my head would have to explode. (Although a part of me wants an OTP icon now.)

Ah, Captain Scarlet, my other childhood.

I had mixed feelings about that show. On one hand, it kicked ass, on the other it was scary. Seriously, Captain Black gave me the willies (remember kiddies: stubble=EVOL). but I still played with my brother's Captain Scarlet doll when he wasn't looking. He was my boyfriend.

Now that I think about it, I watched all those puppet shows as a kid. Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, and the other one...Stingray? (Was that what it was called? The underwater one with the mute girl puppet?)

I swear, that one Bestbuy commercial? Got me all nostalgic and took me a minute to figure out why. *g*

Is it really bad that the tune that went through my head then was not the moderately funky Captain Scarlet but that of Captain Planet? I'm pretty sure that Captain Scarlet won't take pollution down to zero... although he'd give it a good shot.

THIS IS THE VOICE OF THE MYSTRONS ...

God, I remember watching Captain Scarlett when I was a little girl - Captain Black used to scare the bazoombas out of me (but not as much as Joe 90 which was some seriously freaky shit).

Okay, since there are other people in this thread who were transfixed by creepy talking puppet s.f. in their childhoods, help a sister out. When I was little, the local video rental store had this series on tape that I rented and watched all the way through, and damned if I can remember the name now, or most of the plot. It had your puppet heroes in a s.f. setting.

There was a girl -- maybe a princess or something of that sort. She was also ...a goddess? An angel? Some sort of higher being, or turning into one, but didn't know it. The last episode had her going glowy and growing wings, and maybe a cook sword. The final transformation was evidently painful. I remember her holding her head and saying "It feels like I'm being squeezed like a bag of rice!". Also, there was a space pirate. As in, his space ship was shaped like a pirate galleon. But I think he was a good space pirate, and wound up falling in love with princessangelchick, and going off with her when she went glow.

That, or the last episode was her smiting him for being a dumbass evil guy. Like I said, it was a long time ago.

Any of this sound familiar, at all? I think there was also a scene early on with one of the characters driving this tank and complaining about having to sit backwards and watch where he was going through a camera feed. Also, one of the hero guys might've been fat and freckly.

Thunderbirds. Oh, wow. The trailer didn't appeal too much to me (Alan Tracy, a 22-year-old professional car racer, turned into the typical whiny kid who suddenly is thrown into action with his kid friends? Gimme a break), but still...

Oh, what a flashback I'm having right now. My inner child will be dizzy from so much emotion. :D
