Spirited Away <3
/crossposted from my journal

I just finished watching Spirited Away for the first time, and wondered if this film (in the tradition of the majority of anime projects) has attracted any drama. Lo and behold, within five clicks I’m feelin’ the love.

Have you ever read an online movie review that left you feeling physically ill? Well, Brian Matherly at Rotten Tomatoes has inspired that response for giving SA a bad review, along with attracting enough flames to warm the cockles (or sub-cockles) of your heart. He’s been called everything from a “Jap hater with a thin brain” to “a critic of poor quality”. Some suggest that by continuing to employ Brian, the entire company will come crashing down. I wonder if Mr. Matherly gets woozy from all that power. Brian isn’t the only one to feel the heat though. His own editor, Chuck Dowling, drops in to lend a hand. Whether he’s there to try and cool things down, or intentionally fan the flames is a matter of opinion. Want to see the drama unfold in all of its tarnished glory?

To see yet more spillage over at Box Office Mojo forum, click here. It starts at page 4, and then keeps on truckin’ along to page 5.

Quote of the Moment:
"Everyone's entitled to an opinion, but some opinions are just plain incorrect."
