Intellectual Snobbery In The Most Unlikely Places...
Fans of The Tribe are desperately hoping for a sixth series of the show. In the meantime, much in a similar fashion of HP fans who just agonized over the long wait for OotP, many in the fandom (I will put money on Tribe fanfic being the worst fanfic out there, EVAR) decided the only way they can get some satisfaction is to write season 6 themselves.

It starts off with someone posting the url to Tribeverse, where someone has created a webcomic of their own version of Season 6.

On the official BB, keon says, Like most 'fan' attempts at continuation, this lacks imagination and is driven almost solely by repetitive, inartistic, mindlessness meant to evince 'pleasure.' This is why it is better for original artists to fully control their own work; because no one else can understand, let alone present, their vision otherwise. I hope the real series six would be focussed on relevant issues and not just be a parody of the earlier seasons which only concerns itself with tribelore.

This is followed by much wank, including the 'It's not fanfic, it's a webcomic!', the eternally admonoshed advice of 'If you can't say anything constructive, don't say anything at all.' (Which basically means leave a message saying OMG SO KEWL I LUV IT!), the author defending herself over making massive canon changes, and the argument of fanfic as having literary versus pop culture merit.

Oh, and here is where I confess, I wank about it myself.

But it's only a teeny i_wank! Only a fleshwound of an i_wank!

Still, I have to give this discussion credit for being incrementally more intelligent then most of the postings on the Tribe BB.

Enjoy!
