Queer Eye For the Oversharing Ex-Wife Of The Straight Guy, Part II: Electric Boogaloo
Last April I posted this Queer Eye For the Straight Guy wank. It was about one of the straight guys' ("Mullet Man") ex-wives spamming and whinging all over the now-defunct PanFandom boards about what a cheapskate asshat he REALLY is and how he totally screwed over his "real" (divorced 16 years) family for the sake of his "new" (14 years married) family by not including his bio daughter in the party that took place on his episode. Then the current wife's friend showed up to bitch her out. We took the site down 2 months ago for totally unrelated reasons, but I cut and pasted most of the good parts in that wank.

Not to worry about missing anything though... two weeks later the same dumbasses were at it again on another message board!

I love Queer Eye for the Straight Guy... except for the part where they RUINED MY LIFE OMG!!!!1!1!

I personally think this is the source of the real gripe:
He could have included her in the whole thing, had a joint party for her and Karly, and maybe gottensomething for his own child out of it, but that is not what he is truly like, it is only how he was portrayed on tv.... If there is any recourse for me, either legally or through the media, that will allow me to get something out of it for my daughter, such as money or supplies for school, something that makes it easier for her to attend college, then I have at least helped to repair the damage he has caused.

*makes a concerned face at the bitter gold-digger*

Then the friend comes along... That would all be really interesting, RUTHIE, if you weren't such a whiny, lying slut. PS your kid is psycho too.

And Ruthie 4Honesty comes back with a lonnnnng oversharing rant that basically amounts to OMGWTFBBQSTFU!!!1!1!@!

And there's more in the same thread, where they argue about whether or not Mark Faries (the show's straight guy) slept with Ruthie while he was seeing his current wife Roe, etc. etc. So much painful oversharing!!! My eyes! The goggles, they do not help!

It then spills over into this thread, entitled "Queer Eye Reality?", where 4honesty's friend Lizzie posts the exact! same! post! she posted on PanFandom.

I was going to post this in [info]i_wank, because I rebutted the Faries' friend's gloating claim that PanFandom was shut down because the Faries had threatened to SUE US!! (uh, that would be NO) on this thread, but I didn't really think my response was all that wanky.

It all just goes to show that The Jerry Springer Show is the predecessor to all current reality shows.

Oh, yeah. I mean, if it's the same women that were wanking all over PF, it is. I had my doubts and voiced it to them directly at the time, but we checked their IP addresses on PF and they were coming from the right parts of the country (New Jersey and Texas) and they both offered home addresses and phone numbers and "TheFariesTruth" asked Brooding_Soul and I to call her to prove her identity.

Needless to say, we did not take her up on the offer. *cough*

Christ honey would you please get over it already?

I'd have more sympathy for her if it didn't seem like she was just using this as a way to both bash her ex and make herself look like some kind of sainted martyr.

And in all honesty I can see why he hubby wouldn't want to spend time with his kid if it meant having to fight it out with his pyscho ex.

WORD. Also, according to the family friend, the bio daughter didn't want to visit, had to be forced to do so, often made excuses to cancel, and caused tons of drama with everyone, including guests of the family, when she WAS there.

Gee, I wonder why Mark Faries didn't want to appear on candid national television with her.

Gee what a surprise that is....

I can't help but wonder if her daughter is genuinely hurt or if she's just acting that way because of her mother.

A part of me does feel a little bad for them, but the rest of me points out that their relationship has been over for almost 20 years and it's high time this woman let it go and moved on.

Or if she doesn't care a lick and Mom has an Internet version of Munchausen by Proxy.

I'm not even sure F_W even existed yet during those banner wars. But, oh yes, I was certainly around during that magical wank and remember it fondly. *wipes tear from eye*

Unfortunately, f_w was in the process of being TOS'ed from Blurty during the original banner wars. (My favorite comment? "Most. Expensive. Flamewar. EVER.")

There are a few stragglers in the JF archives, though. Here and here. About B/S and B/A ads, respectively. Oh, how poetic!

Too bad the Willow/Tara "Bring Tara back or we won't watch the last three episodes!" rainbow ad discussions are lost to the ages.

I started off with a little sympathy for her...well, that lasted about three lines. Good lord, woman, shut the fuck UP, for god's sake.

As for talking about 'legal recourse' for not being included or getting free stuff? That's almost as funny as people threatening to call their oh-so-scary internet lawyer.

Hey, when I was little, sometimes other kids didn't invite me to their parties! There must be some legal recourse...I want my party goody-bag, damn them!

Sadly I can really see why he'd want out of that relationship, like I said before they've been apart for nearly 20 years, it's time to get of the cross other people need the wood.

I think that the dad should have at least provided some money for his daughter's college education, even if it was a hundred bucks towards buying stuff for her dorm. But he didn't. And instead of raving about what an asshole he is to everyone who will listen, she should cut her losses, realize AGAIN why she divorced him, and go on. This is all ancient history.

(I was stiffed by some key family members when I started college, and it does hurt a lot when the people you depend on aren't there for you when you need them. But I got through anyhow, even if I had to buy cheaper stuff.)

No, they don't, but when they give your other siblings gifts and you get nothing, you can't help but feel a little hurt. Perhaps it was too strong a word to use.

According to the ex, Mark Faries' only "help" was to suggest that they not include his income on her financial aid forms so that the daughter gets a lower tax bracket. *headdesk*

Well, yeah. The thing is though, I don't think that would make a difference to the Psycho Ex From Hell here. If anything, she'd just be up on the soapbox screeching about how her daughter got "only money for dorm stuff" from her father, and how the world owes her for her her daughter's many long years of untold suffering.

I do wonder how the daughter does feel. I mean we haven't heard anything from her, only her mother.

She may very well resent her father and not want to accept any gifts from him, or hey she could simply be happy for her stepsister, though I wouldn't bet on that.

Thank you! *leers*

Honestly, I thought this was Victoria Bitter caliber madness! It's got shoe flinging and you're-a-whore-dirty-laundry airing and illegitimate kids and everything. Do you remember how in the original wank, Ruthie whined about how 15 years ago Mark Faries failed to buy diapers? I swear I almost peed myself laughing!

But I guess I can understand why people had more to snark about over the Harry Potter and the Ordeal of Waiting wankatopia. *sniffles*
