I'd really like to go with the RPG theory (really, really, please for the love of God be true!), but she seems a little too...I don't know, obsessive to be fake. She's really, really scary regardless. In that back-away-slowly kind of way.

if you look at their icons, especially with the 'keeping me locked in gryffindor tower' kind of thing, it's easy to imagine [info]infinitus as cho. and [info]pottersginny, well, i couldn't maker her ginny. she looks sort of millicent bulstrodey, in my head. but i'm sure there's an obnoxious gryffindor somewhere waiting to be played with that hair style.

I've been thinking about that RPG theory (because that's so much more appealing than the truth)...but then I looked in her interests where she mentioned "baptist."

While I know that there are plenty of decent baptists out there, one has to admit that they don't have the worlds greatest reputation for have open minded believes. One of my friends says her parents are "recovering baptists" even after twenty+ years of converting.

So yeah...just a very scary woman.

It's not that she's a Christian, or even a baptist. Any nutzo zealot is a reason to be annoyed/insulted/amused. There's a HP/SS fic I read recently on Instained Fingers titled "Down on Your Knees". A quote: "Once again we are down on our knees. Our prayers are the wrong prayers and the wrong gods are listening."

I think she needs a good time. It doesn't have to be drugs or sex. Six Flags would do. Going out with people and seeing the *real* world and enjoying. People get too wrapped up in the afterlife sometimes. That's why egyptology can be pretty dull.

Oh, and she looks cross-eyed too.

I'm sorry, but since the Canaanites were from the Middle East ... how does that make them black? And since when are white people mentally superior to black people? What fucked up version of the Bible is she reading, because I sure as hell don't remember any of this shit from 18 years of Sunday School and weekly church!?!?!?! This sounds distressingly like the scientific racism widely spread in the antebellum period.

For perspective: I'm in college working on my anthropology major (emphasis on archaeology). I also happen to be mestizzo and live in Texas.

Now then, I've been following the thread up to now. My inner anthropologist weeps at the ignorance dear Darlene is displaying and wishes to educate her on the fact that humans came out of Africa, that we all bleed red when hurt, and there's no truly pure race since mixed breeding has been happening since the dawn of time. My inner misanthropist believes that this would be a waste of time.

Oh, the dilemma. To give in to the urge to educate or point and laugh.
