Once more with feeling - HP ship wank
snellios links to an entry in his personal journal in the [info]harryhermione community with this text:

A H/Hr shipper, bitching the rest out

I hate the stereotypical H/Hr shipper. They are dumb; it's been a d00med ship from CoS. And you find that most of them are crazed teenies who haven't actually read the books properly (that'd be me), and therefore are blind to the fact that its never gonna happen. It's obvious to anyone who's read the books that its gonna end R/H, maybe a little UST between H/Hr, but that'll be it.

And if they had any clue about the HP fandom, they'd know that JKR has ruled it out repeatedly, and they would have seen the evidence for R/H is pretty overwhelming....

....Furthermore, I ship H/Hr, because I believe that they would be good together; far better than R/Hr.

and then disallows comments.

The wank continues in various entries of the community and in snellios's livejournal.

hopelessfangirl insult snellios mightily:

You've got to be the weirdest H/Hr shipper I've ever seen.

snellios replies:

2) d00m! n00b! Oh c'mon, its 1337 mock. It's not meant to be cool. Unless, maybe, I was trying to do the whole anti-cool is cool thing. Which I wasnt. So bleh to you missy! The curse words aren't meant to be serious. I'm not totally enflamed by this whole situation. It was away of hyperboling myself and establishing, as you point out, a self-mock tone which isn't serious.

The first wanker who submits the phrase "l337 mock" to wikipedia gets a cookie.

hopelessfangirl discontinues the argument with a stylish:

I think I'll go watch paint dry. That's a waste of time that is surely more thrilling than arguing with you. .

crazymol4588 is peeved that snellios posted this in the H/H comm:

What's wrong with you that you would post that in a H/Hr community?? harryhermione has always been a very positive place where SUPPORTERS of the ship can come to discuss ideas.

snellios sees no wrong in his trolling actions:

Hate to get wanky about this, but I am a supporter of the H/Hr ship. Or have you not been listening?

crazymol has been listening after all:

I did read that you are a H/Hr shipper. I was shocked and appalled at it, too.

And so HP wanks on.

Stop being on my side; you're making my side look wanky!

Is this still fallout from Shipwank?

Upon seeing the comm name [info]harryhermione, I immediatly thought that it would better if named hairyhermione. Hermione refuses to shave, because that's just the patriarchy wanting women to be sex objects!!

It's obvious to anyone who's read the books that its gonna end Hermione/Trelawney, maybe a little UST between Hr/G, but that'll be it.

3) H/Hr shippers as a whole represent everything that a "teenie" isn't. Teenie Bops go with the trend and accept whatever is fed to them because they just want to be with the 'in-crowd'. Obviously, it's most evident that R/Hr is going to happen, so naturally the majority of "teenies" would gravitate to this relationship since they're basically told that it will work. H/Hr shippers, however, are supporting this relationship because they want it to happen, regardless of what they're told.

... this makes me laugh.

Hi, primary male protagonist/primary female protagonist? Definitely going to be popular.

In other words, "teenie-bait".

EVERYTHING IS A CLICHE. There hasn't been a damn thing that's original since before Beowulf for christsake. We've got star crossed lovers, Draco/Ginny, Draco/Hermione, Draco/Harry; Main Girl and Main Boy, Harry/Hermione; Main Girl and Boy she fights with all the time Hermione/Ron, Hero and the girl who's loved 4eva!!!11ONE Harry/Ginny.

It's everywhere, not just Harry Potter. I really don't get caught up in ship debates that often, I ship what I ship and don't give a rats ass who agrees with me Ron/Draco/Ginny OT3! this just happens to be one of my pet peeves.

Why the hell won't it let me log in?

I follow [info]harryhermione for the wank. Never fails to deliver.

Look at this post (http://www.livejournal.com/community/harryhermione/290981.html), where you'll learn that when you have sex you exchange your soul with someone, binding you to that person for life and then OMG! H/Hr soulmates.

So glad everyone isn't bound to the first person they have sex to,

Umm, no offense, but .. where's the wank? Looked like a plot bunny/loony theory to me, and not even a particularly bad one with respect to canon. (Wizards marrying young, to all appearances, along with a seeming overabundance of unmarried older wizards and a dearth of divorced ones.) The silly soulmates thing wasn't even more than tangential to the post.

Honestly, harryhermione (it's at LJ, not journalfen, by the way) is a wank desert except for the odd troll coming in to tell all the 'shippers why H/Hr is NOTGONNAHAPPENomg, and snellios is the first of those to show up in weeks. Other than that, it's practically all icon offerings and fic recs --not exactly a wankapalooza.

I do find the periodic posts by newbies angsting over years-old R/Hr opinions to be quite amusing.

Renata

Heh, we H/D shippers have no room to mock, really.
Or as cynical_thought puts it:

“I am glad we see eye to eye.”
“Seeker to seeker.”
“Lion to Snake.”
“Good to evil.”
“Light and dark.”
“Clich頴o clich鮔

OMG h00r, you would totally ship Dudley/Harry!111 That is such a sign of n00bishness. The latest OtP is so clearly Dudley/Fawkes! *sneers*

Weird JF, sticking your reply over here.

That poem, while lovely, leaves out the all-important green eyes to grey. How will we know they've locked eyes without Harry's emerald orbs meeting Draco's fathomless silver depths? *hugs all over her pairings' cliches*

But I thought our new OTPs were Hari/Fawkes and Dudderz/Veruca Salt?! Or has Brodie gone and scrambled things up again?
