Jack Black cast as Green Lantern. World ends.
According to Ain't it Cool News, Jack Black has been cast as Green Lantern in the upcoming movie. On their boards and at CHUD...

Baba-Lou: "Duck Dodgers did this story already. Daffy picks up GL's suit by mistake at the laundry. Hilarity ensues. I've seen Daffy Duck, and you Jack Black are no Daffy Duck."

thenewpulp: "Warner Bros. has also announced their zany comedy about the holocaust and how all the jews died in a funny and crazy way, funnily enough Jack Black will also star, with Ben Stiller and the rest of the Jewish cut out cast. Yeah... that basically makes as much sense as a comedy featuring Green Lantern."

badboymason: "This could lead to a fantastic franchise of Jack Black playing every DC hero in hilarious comedies: "Jack Black plays the Flash! - When a streaker is struck by lightning he gains the power to streak at the speed of sound! Hilarity ensues." "Jack Black plays Superman! - An alien baby crashes to Earth, with superpowers and an hilarious alien inability to understand Earth's customs - hilarity ensues." and so on..."

cloudrider: "not that i ever think green lantern is a cool superhero, but... BAHAAAHAAAAAAHAAA!!!MUAAHAAAAHAAHAAAAAHAAA!!!!! honestly, WHO THE HELL is running WB studio? gay robot monkeys????"

Richard Dickson: "And somewhere William Katt's dreams of a big-screen version of Greatest American Hero evaporate in a puff of smoke and cheap booze."

I'd have to say Devin Faraci at CHUD has quite an interesting take on the whole shebang, mainly that everyone should just cut it out since Green Lantern isn't really all that "big" anyway.

(Don't miss the lively discussions about Catwoman and Batman!)
